Besides, why do they all claim to "believe" in God? "Belief" is something which may be false until it is proven to be true. He's so fearful of proudly uttering 'I'm atheist'! So, he's done what so many of us have done - similar to the 'I'm spiritual' - he's redefined some BS mystery and enigma and whatever to be the replacement term, the equivocation for god, just so he doesn't have to say it all out loud. He may well have religious trauma, he may harbor a deep seated fear of hell, or he's still on a journey. But, as confusing and circular as his garble was, I do believe he's on the right path.
