Let's calculate the force between two parallel long wires carrying current. We will find that the force is attractive when the currents are in the same direction, and repulsive when they are in the opposite direction.
Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. We offer quizzes, questions, instructional videos, and articles on a range of academic subjects, including math, biology, chemistry, physics, history, economics, finance, grammar, preschool learning, and more. the question to ask is if the two opposite forces are equal and opposite to each other why do they attact? why not they neutralize? where is the displacement force coming from ? Is there anything to do with special theory of relativity or attraction forces are fundamentally different from repulsion forces?
