Yes the ground clearance is quite less. We could say that they made a mistake by choosing to make this vehicle road biased. They had the opportunity to make it off road biased, as it's a niche product.

Low ground clearance and lack of articulation is the reason I've not purchased Gurkha. And Thar has no front differential lockers also its rear one is automatically engaged which is not helpful while off roading. Also If you fit Snorkel on Thar Traffic police will harras you because in this so called Democratic country one cannot modify its vehicle. It should not be banned instead govt should make guidelines that within which modifications should be allowed.

The limitations of Gurkha are mostly issues on paper. In reality it manages most trails easily. Although yes, it has issues with quality control
