I spent most of the year in Southeast Asia when I came back it's instant sticker shock. I can't believe the price of everything and how expensive it is to afford to live in this country. And I'm not talking about just noodle dishes. I'm talking about even our meats being more expensive than they are in Asia. Although the good stuff is mostly imported from New Zealand and Australia.

Hi Minivan Lee Hope you are doing well today. I live on SS only. I'm 76 and recovering from foot surgery bones and the tendon moved. It's been almost 10 weeks. My Chevy Equinox is almost paid off. Good condition. I was forced into this life style

Hey Lee you mentioned bananas and I love bananas since I had some hart issues I found out there very good for your hart one time when my son was little I through a banana peel out of the car and he got mad because he thought it would cause an accident lol!!! 👍🙏😀 Good things are coming our way!

Ok.. dollar store...pouch of tuna,,can of beans pouch of rice, pouch crabmeat,4pack of fruit cups,oj or tomato juice,at least somewhat healthy

Dollar store is now basically a dollar twenty five. Walmart sells canned chicken for $1.18 and tuna packs 1.08.

I exercise to the KZfaq videos online. I cannot afford a gym membership. But, if it involves free overnight parking it's something to weigh into the decision. Thanks Lee for reminding us to keep moving. Hugs to you! And good luck to us all 😀!!

A lot of insurance companies don't pay enough to really get back to "normal" with a home, sometimes it will help, but you will have to take a lesser home or they will find that the fire/etc. wasn't covered. This happens...

Tempeh and tofu are good as they are rich in protein. I found tempeh many times when I was in Dallas.

Very good talk today, was the first time I heard how much Planet Fitness cost. I have Silver Sneakers which is great so no cost to me. But for those that don’t have that Planet Fitness would be great for them. I don’t know if they take Silver Sneakers or not will have to check it out. When I was driving a truck I always kept chicken in a can packed in water. I can’t eat tuna any more and chicken is very healthy. Have a wonderful day Lee.

You do have to eat properly as well, and drink water in order to care for your body, yes excercise is good, however what you put in the body is important as well, as is lowering stress.

You can't have savings on SSI, even if you won money from the lottery. Your assets cannot exceed $2000.00 , at any time. It's impossible to save on less than $1000.00 a month. I'm disabled and cannot work any type of job. I'm ready for the Lord to take us out of all this. My advice? Keep some sort of credit if you can't save.

That’s not true for retired SS. Recipients. You might be talking about disability recipients. Regular SS retirees can save as much as they want and earn as much as they need as income

Shuffling and hoarding may be a sign of a mental health disorder. Very sad. Yes an illness can set anyone financially back. As one ages, adequate protein diet is more important than veges, fruit and carbs for mental health.
