This is the first instance of someone saying they'd chose the standard package (no sensors) over the 360 cameras on the High package - and I'm glad to hear it. I have a 4 door Badlands 7MT with standard package on the way. I really wanted the cameras but couldn't bring myself to accept the climate controls, sensors, and nannies that accompany the option, and I don't live in snow so the heated seat/steering wheel are also unnecessary features. I completely echo your sentiments in closing regarding reasons for wanting a manual transmission. I would add that I had the opportunity to drive a 10AT Badlands Sasquatch at Nevada Off-Roadeo and while it's a great transmission and works well off-road - nothing can compare to controlling when you shift versus inappropriate gear shifts at the wrong time leading to a bit of lurching. I also managed to take a 7MT Badlands off-road in Hollister Hills SVRA in California and was thoroughly impressed with the clutch, shifting, and that crawler gear is fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. And I don't think I've seen a black vehicle look as good as this 2 door!

I have a manual Sasquatch and I just love it and I love your videos. Did you reprogram your speedo when you went to taller tires? Also, I think 4L turns off auto start/stop, so that's probably why it won't start back up when you put the clutch back in. Which brings me to my favorite thing, the auto start/stop doesn't turn off the engine for me because I always keep the clutch in at traffic lights, hence it never shuts off. People will say that's bad and you should always put it in N and take your foot off the clutch, but nope, not doing that.

I would get it because I agree - it's more fun, like to control my RPMs, and the crawler looks great in 4L. For me & where I live/commute, the automatic is the preference. Great content on the MAN trans! I have a 2DR Base Sas, 7MT with a production date of 7 March coming. Couple questions, I've heard there is a hill hold feature that prevents rolling backwards (by applying brakes) with manual trans. Is this true? Only in certain modes? The way it was explained to me was clutch in, vehicle will not roll back. Also, the auto start - does it do that every time you come to a stop or only when you stall? I like that feature of clutch in restart, didn't know about that. I think that feature would be really handy off-road when tackling something particularly difficult (where you are repeatedly stalling). Too bad it's disabled in 4LO. Hope all that made sense!

I'm not the right person to ask that. My commute to work is 5 minuets with multiple stops and my bronco spends it's time in the woods. My Mileage is horrible..... But that's my fault. Sorry I couldn't help.

With the offset wheels too, a little under 5k. So less than sasquatch package. And I got nicer rims. And got to sell the stock tires for 800$ and use the stock rims for my Ranger. So a no brainer.

doing the crawler gear and clutch is fine but are you gonna keep your foot on the clutch the entire time? that doesnt make any sense

No, it goes so slow you can completely remove your foot off the clutch. If your talking about the drivethrough technique, I put it in neutral when not moving.

I will never understand people who speed up when you are passing them. If they were going faster in the first place, you wouldn't have had to pass them. Just drive your speed and mind your own business, people. Being passed is not a slight. Try some RainX on that front camera lens to get rid of the water droplet...

@@NorthShoreOverland possibly, i also dont understand why the Americans make such a big deal if they drive "stick". If someone drives a manual there they are considered highly skilled drivers... nothing to do with skill hahaha driving a manual becomes second nature and you dont even think about it.

Get that rough country lift off that thing. Trust me. Wait till something else comes out
@NorthShoreOverland2 жыл бұрын
I get it. You get what you pay for. I like roughcountry. A spacer lift is a spacer lift. I know what I have. And yes, i'm actually waiting for decently priced coil over lift to come out.
@troyheffernan12612 жыл бұрын
@@NorthShoreOverland I've had 2 rough country lifts. Both have messed up my Sterring. I can't take my eyes off the road for a second that my truck doesn't drift. It's like driving an old uhaul with bad steering. Moog parts don't help. And their shocks are junk. And I bought the lifts that they recommended and their parts. No modifications on my part on their parts. And get this. It's only a 3 1/2 inch lift. I'm a stickler on saving tires and alignment. Not with their lifts. I drive a 2012 gmc diesel 4x4. I'm on Toyo ATs using stock rims. I shouldn't be having these problems. And forget about their torsion lift. It's worse. I removed that and went to the current lift they have. I should have bought an cognito lift and spent the money right. Your right you get what you pay for. If you can get the fox shocks.

@NorthShoreOverland2 жыл бұрын
@@troyheffernan1261 Yea, the problem with most 3" lifts is that they are in between a spacer lift and a real lift. I kind of call them Hybrid lifts. Half level/ half lift. It kills the steering geometry unfortunately and leads to many problems. Little spacer lifts are usualy fine. I'm waiting for a full coil over lift that makes sense financialy.
@troyheffernan12612 жыл бұрын
@@NorthShoreOverland mine is real lift at 3 1/5 with spindles the whole works. It was build for towing. What a joke. It's the Geometry that's off really bad. It's a bad lift. I failed to mention it also caused my factory parts to wear as well. I've had lifted trucks all my life. Quality control is the problem here and testing. That's just my opinion. Thanks again I appreciate your input .
