After the disastrous loss in 1963, Ford's Cortina came back the next year to win with Peter Hughes and William Young at the helm beating SAAB's Eric Carlsson who took second.
They also placed 3d with Chris Bates and Mike Armstrong. And a 10th and 15th place too. Mercury Comets from Ford's Lincoln Mercury division earned 18th and 21st place. Stiff competition in grueling conditions.

great to see Fords doing well in the tough conditions ! My dad Frank H Collis competed in 8 African Safaris, driving Anglias and Zephyrs.
