Great info. Our 2015 escape has this exact issue in terms of camera behavior. For a while I was thinking that it might be an intermittent grounding issue, however upon watching this, I’m convinced the camera itself is the issue. I’ll replace the camera and see what happens.

I appreciate this vid fam - I’m ringing-out a 13 explorer and am about to hardwire and add a ground - that’s interesting on the camera itself as the connector comes up across the web - the ground is an easy add so thought I’d add in - as for testing without a diag tool: any tips? Thx 🙏

My camera on my 2015 Ford Escape started to show upside down and at times not work at all. I had read that it could be a linkage aliment issue, so I put the car in Park with E brake on and put it in Reverse and gave it a little gas. I felt a little movement in the shifter and the camera went on, and has been working for the last 2 weeks. Not saying this is the ticket for all Ford Escapes Just it worked for me.. give it a try for yourself !!

I got a letter saying my 2014 Escape might have a recall on that linkage line, guess I need to look into it

I can't understand how you'd determine the camera to be at fault. Why would it come good when you unplug and replug?

That is pretty common with eletrical devices that are faiing.

Can you please do a video on how you replaced the backup camera?
@HG-hr9nq2 жыл бұрын
This video was a waste of time. You basically showed us that the back up camera in that vehicle was not working without explaining how to fix it. Whether it's a bad connection, bad camera, or bad signal, we're all here for the same reason - our back up cameras aren't working. You provided no solution. I replaced the camera in my Audi A6 prior to watching this video and still works when it wants, so it's not the camera. You showing us that monitor with Negative and Positive lines proved nothing.

Obviously this video isn't for a DIY, sounds like you replaced the camera in your Audi without doing the proper testing. As I already stated, the camera was faulty & a new Ford replacement camera repaired this vehicle. This is a case study for professional Technicians that understand how to use a scope.

My camera doesn’t work at all or flashes when i first start my vehicle. If i drive around for a bit, even 10 minutes to work, it is fine. It just started this, is it going to break?

Definitely subscribing. This is the exact issue I am having. I am not sure the solution was mentioned though. Did you say a new camera would be needed? Any response would be greatly appreciated.

This is old, but after I changed my camera, I try a different one, a one installed on the plate light, I installed it direct on the original arness, It worked great ( like an original ford one) but after 3 years, it start with the same behavior. I think the camera isn't the real problem.

If you didn't use an OE Ford Camera, then I would bet on the camera being faulty. Testing needs to be done to confirm.
