Remember the mk1 in the 70's had a ride once when a boy the smell of it very distinctive can smell it now wonderfully austere interior could of been sunday school teacher car [ but that was a Triumph Toledo that was spotless] fond memory of the mexico too saw them being raced at Brands back in the day. I had a 1.3 Mk1 Sport in glitzy Metallic Purple when I was 19 and I Loved it !!I got married at 20 and had it for at least 7yrs or so, til I made the dumb decision to get something more spacious and bought a mk4 Cortina. BIG MISTAKE !! Turned out to be an unreliable piece of crap with the handling of a 2cv. Wish I still had my old mk1 sport, it'd be worth a small fortune now.
