nice video... I have a 2000 Excursion, V10 with close 300,000 miles and still running awesome! No oil blow by, oil level is the same between changes. No issues other than normal wear to brakes and tires. I've installed BANKS headers with a proper "Y" tube that clears up the exhaust flow restrictions and have a manual tuner. It's increased my power and mileage 10+%. In Canada, on hwy, I can get 17+ mpg. Never had any cooling issues either with the original stock rad. Excursions are still one of the baddest trucks on the road!!! Love it!!!

I just bought a 2003 V10 excursion. It has a miss in one of the cylinders. I am replacing all the coils and plugs. Hopefully that fixes it. It ran good when I drove it around the guys neighborhood, but the miss was really evident when I I was doing 50mph and lugging the engine. Everyone says that coils and plugs are the only problem with these engines, so I have my fingers crossed. Great video. Thanks for making it!

Thanks super appreciate the comment. I actually purchased Coils from Amazon and I try to keep a extra pack of 8 on Hand because for some reason these blow through coils. My commuter won’t throw a code for the coil it will show a code for the tranny for a while and then it will show a misfire code and then it will show the exact cylinder after a while, in the meantime though it will keep stalling out so I just keep a pack their like 40$ on Amazon I date the ones I put on with a permanent marker to keep track of them.

@@galenztwo I sprung for the Denso coils. Hoping those will last for a while. Supposedly Denso made the OEM coils for Ford. It’s pretty frustrating, I drove GM’s for a lot of years and I never had to put a coil pack in any of them. Kind of a silly thing for Ford to have gotten wrong. Love the Excursion though. It’s an absolute beast.

I have a 04 6.0 I love it! Same Eddie I put a 6in lift with 20x12.5 with 37’s.

Nice video man! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I've heard several people getting 300k plus from these motors. I'm hoping to get the same from mine with the right TLC. I love you went from a "modest" 2" lift to a 4" haha...couldn't resist! Looks great man nice work.

I got a 2001 excursion with a lift and 37s. I would definitely consider going to. A larger tire he's really stand out as being just a slight bit too small for this truck

37s on any truck will slow it down. 35s is about as big as Ex should take.

Have you ever looked into Landyot Radius rods? You'll hafta do some research on the Excursion owner forums. An engineer guy in VA (I think?) makes these. Custom exact fjt for your EX and lift height. Bolts on or weld onto your rear axle, one on each side of the axle, and completely eliminates wheel hop and leaf spring flex in potholes at highway speeds. I guess he's still in business. I got mine 15 years ago. Nothing compares to the handling improvement. I had helwig sway bars too.

My 2002 Excursion doesn't have a sway bar from factory in rear. Can I still add the Hellwig ?

Would like to know more on the electric fan install. Maybe a video showing it and some links for which one to get, and how it all hooks up. Also, any improvement in power, fuel economy and colder a/c? Then, what about the wheel spacers, etc?

Thanks for the response. I dont currently run spacers the rims are offset so i dont need to, i wouldn't trust spacers on these trucks unless they were high quality but thats just my preference. i purchased the fan and radiator as a kit from amazon the radiator is made by a company called prime cooling. i looked for the link but they dont offer the 2 of them together any more. i only run the fan when im in a long idle situation so it does not run to cool the motor only the a/c condenser. much colder ac at idle. the install was simple, power with a inline fuse and to ground with a toggle switch that turns it on and off. the fan itself connects to the condenser with plastic ties that run through the condenser to plastic tabs on the fan that hold quite nicely. thanks hope this helped. @@galenztwo Thanks for the update. I didn't realize you could get wheels with the proper offset. I agree is much better. Just watched some videos on the spacers and the only ones reliable enough are made of steel and are very expensive. The aluminum one's are failing. What are those wheels and what is the offset to know about for them to fit the Excursion?

Thanks for the update. I'm having a 4" BDS lift installed. Did you extend your brake lines or was that necessary. I'm considering adding the same Powerstop brake system on my 2003 V10 EX. Thank You.

Thanks for the comment. Yes I replaced the front rubber lines with extended steel braided lines from rough County.

Whats the part number for the procomp leafsprings you used?

22410 and 2215 front and rear respectively.

@@galenztwo I know it says that it’s a 4 inch lift for the F250 but it’s actually a 6 inch lift for the excursion. From stock to what’s on it now it probably ended up lifting it about 6 1/2 to 7 inches total.... those are the same leafsprings I used on my 2000 excursion to run 37 inch tires.

@@thehowardsgarage2480 , I have a 4x4 v10 I only got 4’’. It’s possible that for the 302 because it weighs less gets more lift.

@@galenztwo you measured before and after? Measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the wheel well. 22 inches is stock and 26 inches is 4 inches of lift. It’s the same on all excursions. Unless someone already had a small lift on your truck before you got it.

@@thehowardsgarage2480 to me it’s not the same. A v10 weighs more. If you were to add gas to your vehicle it squats at a full tank. Also I measured from tire to center of wheel well. My buddy put the same leaf springs on his 2 wheel drive 302 and it put it up slightly over 5.5 inches. This is just my personal experience and I’m sure it varies over application.😜
