I have felt your pain on the plugs. I work on alot of these engines & fighting spark plugs out is pretty common. I'm glad everything cooperated in the end. 👍👍

Great video. Straight forward and common sense. Thanks for the effort.

Thanks very much for the video sir. The knowledge about the bracket connecting the back of the intake plenum to that beforehand was extremely helpful!!!! I used a health supply of P.B. Blaster into the plug holes and worked them back and forth gently till they all came out. Mine had 157,000 on the original plugs and still came out fairly easily. They were shot, checked the gap and they were .012 to .017 over tolerance so they were due. Lol

Add the same thing just happened to me took it to Pep Boys told me they’ll charge me $850 and it all needs a tuneup tuneup So I’m going to attempt to do this on my own and save myself a lot of money Your video really gave me some confidence to do this

Hey brotha, I had a misfire on my #5 took the coil out and that part was wrinkled up too. I straighten it out and gave the coil a clean. Cleared the code, swapped the coil to #4 ran it, ran great. Switched it back to #5 and ran great also. So far it’s good.

My dad taught us to use a flexible hose(usually an air hose of some sort) that the plug will fit snug in to start threading the plugs back in. This keeps from cross threading, works every time

That’s a good trick

My advice when trying to take out spark plugs, run the engine for five minutes to just warm it up slightly and make them easier to get out.

Good Video! Thanks for taking the time to do it. What is the socket size for the spark plugs? Not sure if I need to get one or have one. Thanks

When torquing the intake manifold are you sure it was torqued at 89inch pounds? I broke a bolt off in the head before I even reached 80inch pounds.

Have you ever done a coolant flush on it? Can’t seem to find KZfaq videos specifically to the Explorer for this:/

Disconnect the battery first. Arcing of unplugged components could cause other issues. I think🤣 Great video!

They come with 100K plugs. Gen need changed around 110k. Those are the original equipment plugs I think it's really safe to assume that those were the ones that came in it

Does EVERY plug change video on the Fords NOT include putting BACK IN, the 8mm Behind the throttle body? Why is that? Forgot? Or too hard to do? Literally, EVERY vid on this..

Nothing is easy to repair on these Ford Explorers. I'll never buy another one.
