OK, so this started happening on my 2017 Raptor and i first though it was an exhaust leak or i damaged my vapor canister again. it sounded like gravel or wind noise or gears grinding. it's hard to believe it was all due to a cheap plastic parts.
So here is a Quick video on how to fix the IWE check valve grinding noise on the Ford F150.
Ford F-150's use a vacuum to keep the IWE front hubs disengaged in 2wd. Overtime the check valve that holds that vacuum can leak and you can hear the from hubs grinding as they half engage.
Side note, I'm not going to get into all the technical details as there are plenty of videos out there on it. If you want technical details I highly recommend you check out OZ mechanics KZfaq video Linked below. He has a great video with full details on how the hubs work on a 2005 truck. The system basically works the same on all modern F150's

Here are the part numbers. You an get just the check valve, but it costs about the same as the whole tube assembly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Keep in mind that the Valve is your first check. the problem could also be on the Solenoid and in worst case scenario, the lines and hubs could be damaged. Left alone long enough and you can damage your hubs.
Let me know if we got anything wrong (VERY LIKELY) and you have any questions in the comments below.
