My 2002 Ford F350 4x4 CCLB steering column was having issues....Over drive button didn't work, the clock spring was shot.... so I have a F250 Super Duty parts truck that I yanked the steering column out..and put it in my 2002 . The process is not hard, but if you do it in the order I have in the video , it is so much simpler.

i changed out the steering column on a 2002 F150 that i bought off of face book. I took the column out of the truck myself. The steering column came with a key , when I tried to start the truck it would not turn over. on the dashboad eveything seemed to work , but there was a word that said Theft. So i change the key cylinder and reader still didnot work . Any advice

Can u help me I bought a used steering column from a junk yard but don't have the key for the ignition how do I remove ignition to install my original ignition

Truthfully, I have never had to remove one from a Ford without the key...... I have done this on old Muscle cars and had to drill out the ignition carefully until it came apart and I pulled it out....but for a modern car or truck I would looke for better advice than that.......I would hire a locksmith worse case scenario before I would drill into a keyless ignition...jmo

There is a small pin under the lock switch push it in and pull the old switch out

Hey do you know how to get the black stick off the metal part in the back after u lower it? I got the top piece off but can’t get the lower part off

Sorry, didn't see this comment. The bracket has given me a bit of an issue as well. Evidently I did not reinstall it correctly. That will be another video...after I take it all apart

I recently removed my steering column today out of my 2000 F2 50 after doing some cross referencing and learning that an F1 50 column will fit. However I pre-bolted everything up and then went to connect the actual steering column at the base and I was short. I’m assuming that I need to connect that first before going to permanently place the column. Going try again tomorrow

I would definitely try that route, but I can not fur sure say because of the F150 VS F250.... haven't done it, so I definitely don't want to steer you wrong... my F250 column went in , no issues.... good luck! Hey I plan on doing this for my excursion asap. The bearing went out on mine and I found a rebuilt column for cheap. Can I swap columns with out any issues with the pats (anti theft system)? For example swap the column and the tumbler snd I should be good to go?

As far as 99-2002...I can say for fact... try to get the tumblers from the other trucks doors so they all match if you can... as far as newer.....I can not say for sure...I would think up till the keys have chips or different chips...

@Road Hard Roadhouse thank you I did this on Sunday and had to swap over the tumbler, as will as the pats system that "encases" the tumbler housing. Went off without a hitch. Thank you for this video, it helps tremendously

Have any advice I have a 2005 lariat f250 edition diesel, it got stolen I got it back. One yahoo wants 2-3.5k for the steering column, after watching this he can go kick rocks. If I run into any issues anyway we can FaceTime to help me troubled shoot. Also any advice on how to pull a transmission they did some damage, so at this point I don’t want to be a mechanic just yet, but I feel everyone is a fuckin rip off in San Antonio.

I’d invest in a Milwaukee cordless ratchet, it will save you time and hassle like you have never seen before. Best investment I’ve made since I started doing my own work.
