No way the Holden has a lot more low end the the XR8 and this is the problem with the Boss V8 too you got to rev it guts out to go anywhere and it only has a power band of about 1200 rpm ... where as the SS pulls hard from 3K all the way to redline XR6 Turbo has them both covered with the flat torque curve, also sounds like a jet on full pace

All three cars are great more people should have bought them and we wouldn't see so many trophy trucks and mall crawlers around I have many of both brands in my collection world cars we buy but don't like them proud Aussie car owner Kev QLD.

This may be an old review but even at the time it seemed biased. Not everyone wants the boost of a turbo on all the time and people aren't out to win Bathurst every time they get in their cars. I'm guessing the FGX reviews will be more of the same.

yup the boss XR8's had shit bottom end, boggy as fuck.. best way to combat other than add more power is to bump your idle up from 750 to around 900rpm you'll be peeling off the line better but still boggy compared to the SS or even the 6cylinder commy's.. you just toe the pedal and off they go.. but the commy's if you keep ur foot flat more often than not hold a gear and rev their guts out.. which can be baaaad
