The Ford Fiesta has been a staple in Britain pretty much from its 1976 launch, spanning 8 generations I reviewed the 8th gen facelift!
The supermini segment has been taken over by small SUV sales, hence many manufacturers are discontinuing their small hatches.
I enjoyed my short time with the latest ST Line X MHEV model, it may not be the most practical, cheap or premium offering, but the fiesta is great at being well, a Fiesta! Notably the driving experience is what sets it apart from the competition!

I have a relative who doesn’t have a fiasta but does have a B-Max and even that car is great. Also feels very safe in that car if the worst were to happen.

Very strange choice from ford to abandon a car that’s been highly successful for half a century. Even if the made it into an electric version

It is but unfortunately rising production costs, means that is passed onto the consumer. Also the SUV market has dominated every sector, hence the Ford Puma (based on the Fiesta) is doing so well: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nJ-Yra9mzqiuqas.htmlfeature=shared An electric Puma is due to arrive late next year, I think an electric Fiesta may be something we will see in the future 🤞🏻especially with how devestated consumers and media alike have been at the discountinuation of the Fiesta.

@@Carcode ah the cost side of it makes sense. I hadn’t considered that so much. Fords especially have definitely gone up a lot in price - the focus now starts at £28,500 so slightly more than the BMW 1 series although it may be a bit higher spec

Thank you, yes it is sad, but there’s so many out there to enjoy and cherish! I’m also looking forward to seeing what Ford release in the future. I will miss it though 🥲

Great video 👍 Mum n dad had a MK1 fiesta 950 popular. I used to use it from time to time,. usually as my MK1 Escort was broke😢My dad used to say ,it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding 😅

@@CarcodeThe Old popular was much more reliable than any ecoboost engined ford. That's why you want the 1.5 TDCi in Titanium Spec with 120 or 140PS. Free Tax, 55-80 mpg and ULEZ Compliant.. No Brainer.

Was chatting to sales guy why they cancel the fiesta and he said its because Ford can't electrify the platform its too small. Funny that Toyota can with a Yaris an equally small sized car. 🤔bs.

Thanks for watching! The Puma EV is coming next year is on the Fiesta platform, however I understand it may not be possible to make an electric Fiesta as although the Puma is on the same platform, it’s is quite a bit larger! The Yaris is a self-charging hybrid and was also built from the start with that in mind, which of course means it is more expensive.

How tall are you? I am surprised you found it roomy at the back as many car reviewers have said it’s feels really cramped at the back.

Hello, I’m 5’8 it’s not the most spacious car in the rear and the dark headliner definitely makes it feel smaller, it’s not as roomy as the Volkswagen Group boxier cars but it is actually even roomier than some small SUVs such as the Nissan Juke and Toyota C-HR. Hope that helps! 😊

Thanks for watching. Yes a spare wheel could be fitted from factory on new cars at a cost of £200, but you can retrofit one yourself if your potential car doesn't have one!

Are you sure you have to put your foot on the brake to start up the car on stop start on the MHEV? I think you just have to put your foot on the clutch, engage gear and off you go. Well I know you do, I have one.

I just picked up a low mileage 18months old Fiesta Vignale MHev 155 (in a colour called ‘magnetic’) and the unused space saver wheel from my old Mk7 Fiesta is identical to the mk8’s as is the toolkit moulding etc so I swapped over the spare with the rubbish spray can that was sitting in the boot😢. I also swapped the car mats from the MK 7 as they are also identical. I don’t know if the car in this video has the eco, normal and sport mode but if it did, the reviewer should of tried the sport mode as it transforms the car into a bit of a beast…. In the 155 model at least.

That’s a Vignale not an ST line X and it has 18” alloys, not 17” as specified in the video.

Looks like an ST-Line X to me. It does have 18'' wheels though.

Sadly, they have to sell many more small cars to make the same they do for a smaller amount of larger more expensive vehicles! In the last few years the issues with the chip shortages, leading to long delays etc have also ramped up the cost of production and materials which is passed onto the consumer. It is sad to see it go, I can imagine with you having 8 of them it’s not good news. The Puma is similarly priced to how the Fiesta was before it ended production, so that way it ‘lives on’ in a way!

Yes it’s a shame but with the original 2030 plan for full electrification as well as rising cost of production, the price of the Fiesta had gone up significantly! I wonder if the plan stuck to later electrification, the Fiesta may still be around for maybe a few more years. @@Carcode watch closely when he is standing by the car his body position changes and on my monitor is looks like a jump, ie an eit. I use a 27" dell ultrasaharp with dell desktop 3.8ghz chip but be careful if you cant see it dont look for it as it will drive you mad. I am watching other videos llke toyota yaris and they are divine
