Face lifted Figo looks a lot better than the old one. Like the compartment on the dash that can accommodate a mobile phone.

In India,the swift gets a lot more features than the car sold in SA like LED with projectors and DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system,auto climate control,gun metal finish alloy wheels (185 section tyres) etc.It is surprising to see the omission of such features in a modern car.

I can't speak to the interior quality of the Figo, but the R15k is a fair price to pay for the 1) bigger engine en 2) longer service plan and warranty.

In India swift has to go through good roads, bad roads, no roads. Hence the ride quality is better. Here the Ford Figo is sold as Ford freestyle has 6 airbags, abs, ebd, ESC as safety features while swift offers 2 airbags, abs, ebd and costs 1 lakh more than Ford freestyle ( Figo ). But still people go and buy swift and is currently the number 1 selling car in India with 22000 cars being sold every month.

The on button thing isn't an issue of you have your phone connected to Bluetooth as a trusted device, it's always unlocked and you just tap the screen and swipe

I got a Figo 1.5 Amb. for a rental. I honestly thought it was a 1.0 eco boost turbo motor with the shove it had. Honestly I was surprised to find out it was NA. At 7.5 ltr/100 I’m happy with the peppy motor.

I remember purchasing a 2013 Clio 4 Dynamic for R 175 000 brand new that had a 900 cc turbo and navigation etc..... Brilliant on fuel consumption and fun to drive. Now these types of cars are coming up that costs more money for less product... Oh well, such is life...

In nearly every one of your reviews you mention the service plan, which is actually not that common in the US. What nearly all vehicle manufacturers offer in the US is roadside assistance. That is, you are given a phone number you can call (for a set period of time, usually 2 years after new car purchase), and a service truck is dispatched to attempt "repairs". And many times when you mention warranties, SA warranties are shorter than for the same vehicle sold in the US. Like the reviews. BTW, Ford offered a 1.5 liter engine (I think) for just over a year, here in the US. Oddly, it was a 4 cylinder petrol with turbo. It was superseded by a 1.6 petrol turbo.

Bought the Swift AMT. Current average fuel consumption, in town, 19.3km/l. Other things I like: good roadholding, refined ride, good ride quality over bad patches of road, feels nippy in town, comfortable seats, spacious cabin, relatively large boot, nice looking dashboard, windscreen is placed far forward so little greenhouse effect. It is a very light car so things like bumpers are very flimsy. Considered the Figo which is also a good buy but I expect a much better fuel consumption when I drive small car. Also, I didn't like the interior of the Figo.

It's quite interesting that you mention that about the Swift with the automatic transmition as I know someone who recently got herself a Swift and it's a very interesting car in terms of the transmition as her car has the automatic transmition but when driving along it feels and sounds like a manual which was quite a supprise for me as I wasn't expecting an automatic to sound and drive like a manual. For the Ford Figo, if I personally had to buy one of the first generation models (we currently have one) I would rather go for the Fiesta from which it originated because I like how the back bumper sticks out a bit (not as much as the back bumpers of, let's say, cars from Vw) when compared to the back bumper of the Figo which looks like it has shrunk a bit into the bodywork because it doesn't really stick out that much and there is a greater chance of getting hold of one with the 1.6 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine which I prefer, rather than the 1.4 l you get as well as also found in the first generation Figo. The 1.4 litre engines tend to sound a bit too throaty through the exhaust from outside and the exhaust itself sounds a bit to sporty as if it has been souped up, but very slightly. I unfortunately didn't spend a lot of time with the Fiesta from which the Figo originated to really know what the ride quality is like but with our Figo the ride quality isn't that great as it feels very hard and harsh when going over bumps and stuff in the road. The 1.4 litre engine in the Fiesta wasn't all that lively though when I first encountered it but a positive for our Figo is that it definitely feels lively, especially under acceleration (general daily driving).

You chose the wrong variants.the new figo has steering mounted controls as well as a touchscreen.

He seems biazed towards Swift in many aspects.. the interior of the Ford Figo is beautiful and has the controls on the steering wheel. He removed the cooler box in the Ford but didn't in the Swift which has the same gap on top. Look at the new Ford it is much better than what he shows here..

They’re both the weirdest but cutest cars I’ve driven. 😂 I thought the Swift wouldn’t be sturdy but it is. The Ford can be a bit better, it left me quite perplexed and the gearbox sucks a bit.

Suzuki is not just slightly more reliable than ford. Its a huge gap. Suzuki is in the top three in reliability ratings in the most recognized uk surveys, alongside toyota. In 2018 what car? UK Reliability survey suzuki was placed first. its near the top on j d power uk surveys too.

I own the 2010 Swift, got it brand new. It is 1.5GLS and a wonderful car. No problems, and servicing the vehicle is very easy diy. Mine is Japanese build and is high quality. I drove the new swift, unfortunately the plastics inside is very cheap in the new Swift and I definitely felt the power difference! As the new one is a 1.3L engine. I would not buy the new Swift, I would probably look at the Hyundai Accent 1.6l manual or a Honda jazz, but Honda is way overpriced here in South Africa.

All gone. No more Figo. No more Fiesta. And the Swift now has ESP - and other features too.

First of all first drive full option ford Figo it have touch screen infortainment system steering mounted audio controls. And safety it have 6 airbags and strong body really stable car in high speed ...I don’t know weather the upgraded model come in SA ....definitely it is better than the Suzuki tin can light weighted unstable horrible car like swift ....more than it’s a Ford ... ford build tough 💪

The Ford Figo is much better than the swift!! The small engine of the swift can't compare to the new Ford Figo 1.5 engine, much more power. Figo will definitely last longer than the swift.
