Steve M maybe you should drive more :) There is a sizeable difference in how cars like BMWs, Fords, Mazdas and SEATs drive compared to Mercs or VWs for example.

@@xIcarus227 in the past 3 weeks I've gone from scirocco, to a 67 plate bmw 2 litre courtesy car, to a 14 plate golf. Of course there's a difference with how they drive. The difference is I stick to speed limits mostly as I have a young child, so the 'fun' factor is just obsolete. Literally no difference in how I drove any of those 3 cars

I think the st line has parking assist as standard, the active we bought got that as standard either way and I think the same thing goes for the st line

SPACE = the Focus MK III had even more worse legroom, boot space than a Skoda Fabia, how pathetic, compared to that their cross overs like Kuga/Escape had way better SPACE, the Mondeo again , it felt like even a VW Jetta/Skoda Octavia has more room inside than these stupid Fords

Considering the class action against the DCT transmission which caused lost lives, maybe this is a reason. The DCT did not work. Went into neutral on highway ramps. The stuff of horror stories. And Ford covered it up.

Considering how hard the i30 ripped off the old Focus, I think it's the other way around. This Focus is an evolution of the mk3 design (the new Fiesta is based on that as well). They resemble each other because of that. Hyundai and Kia have always had some of the most unoriginal designs in the industry, I'm surprised people are pointing the finger at Ford. Double standards I guess.

I don't see any significant similarities between any Santa Fe and Kuga, and you still didn't post me proof on how Hyundai invented the honeycomb grille. It's easy to spot that you're a butthurt fanboy, you provided no proof regarding your claims and started insulting and inventing. I never said Ford copying Hyundai is a 'trend' (they're not, however the same can't be said about Hyundai and Kia who ripped off much of what Ford and Mazda did in the past), and I've got no double standards regarding any of these cars. I know subtle copying when I see it. If you weren't blind yourself you'd see that the new Focus is an evolution of the old design, the same can be said about the new Fiesta. Does the new Fiesta look like a Hyundai too? And I'm not even defending the design as I simply don't like it. I think the MK3 (non-facelift) looked far better, and was far more original (this generation hot hatches all look the same with few exceptions). In fact, next year I'll be in the market for a 25-30k car and I'll most likely skip Fords simply because of the designs I don't like. Maybe stop assuming and inventing shit just because you ran out of ammo. You didn't know my stance regarding the Focus' design until now. I am not generous to Hyundai because their designs have been unoriginal, just like Kia's. The last gen i30 back end for example came from the sedan Focus, and this generation's comes straight from Mazda. The front end is a MK3.5 Focus. It's simply uninspired. And I'm not even saying they're the only ones. Almost all hatches this generation look laughably similar which is a big shame.

Edward93 I think I am on the same lines however the grunt and exhaust sound you get from the ST will definitely be different and prominent. But keeping in mind space, comfort and practicality I am definitely leaning more towards the Focus ST-Line being an owner of the older model Fiesta ST 😉

Depends what matters more to you? I'd imagine the Fiesta ST will outperform this by a larger margin than numbers suggest.... But if bigger more refined car is what you're after, then the focus is the one to go for 👍

He was driving the 1.5 which is a 4 cylinder and has cylinder deactivation. The 1.0 is the 3 cylinder.

Leigh Chapman the 1.5 litre is a three cylinder, he says it in the review and my parents own this exact spec Focus and it’s definitely three cylinders

I see a lot of these in my country. And its normal that the sales went down since we are in a pandemic. However, they made a sale on these cars and the st line brand new was 19.9k€ compared to the usual 26k. They had 6 cars lefr when I wentw there last week. They sold everything. I ended up getting a 6 month old one with 7000km for 20k

Same here - well said. We have three Ford cars - a '12 Focus, '08 Taurus and '98 Mustang GT in my family in addition to an F150 and Expedition on the truck side. I now drive a Mazda6 for every day commuting (manual transmission) and will look to move away from Ford for the rest as they come due for replacement. Bye Ford.

I like fords too. They are great cars. They stopped making passenger cars because americans don't buy them. All they want are trucks or those stupid SUVs.

IMO, they let the current models languish without any significant upgrades and that can't be done with such good competition. They should have kept their Mazda relationship and platform engineering sharing with them as those were excellent model years to drive and reliability (Fusion, Focus, Fiesta and even the Edge). Big miss also letting the DCT transmission in the 2012-18 Focus which should have either been quickly fixed (right the 1st time) or changed to standard (6spd) auto transmission. This gaffe significantly hurt Ford's reputation for reliability on their cars.

Reeve Mason poor reliability? Mate, go fanboy somewhere else. Ford is slightly above VW in average reliability, and they trample VW in terms of maintenance costs. And if you read any review of this new Focus, they stepped up the build quality significantly. Jesus, stop misinforming.

Reeve Mason build quality is lower than VW but reliability is way better.

Have a Golf, that focus looks good, but need the bigger boot for the dog. I have no complaints about the Golf though.

Interior looks crap even c/w the current mk7 Golf. Dont forget the Golf is an old design, id be *very* confident the new mk8 Golf next year will also blow this away in design
