This week on the DoneDeal KZfaq channel we're reviewing the 2022/2023 Ford Focus. It's a face-lifted version of the previous version, therefore it's not a completely new car, but rather has some subtle styling changes and a new interior design.
Over the years, the Ford Focus has been a very popular car amongst almost everyone. Whether you're a small family, a salesman or anything in between, the Focus accommodates a broad spectrum of users.
This new version is very practical too, it has a 375 litre boot, a spare wheel and plenty of storage.
To drive, it's very smooth, the gearbox is lovely to shift gears (although we recommend getting the automatic version), and like many Fords, it's engaging.
The only drawback is that it technically is only available with one petrol engine. The diesel isn't currently being produced for the Irish market (due to supply), and there's no EV or PHEV.

Another good review - like it but what happened the 1.5 t? Bit of a shame Ford is abandoning the small car market.

The Ecoboost engine and the Automatic transmission is known to be bad throughout the world. The Diesel in Manual in the best spec is what people should go for. only £20 or £0 Road tax too and up to 80 mpg. Combined is around 65-70mpg on the 120BHP 1.5 TDCi.

ordered my ford focus st line x in agate black cant wait only issue i have is that they cant ge the chips for the parking pack so unfortunately mine will be missing this feature addon

Great review as always. Just the one thing that I'm not sure about . When you said about the spare wheel in the boot ...isn't that a subwoofer ?

Hi Julie, thanks so much. I believe there was a spare wheel under what the camera showed, although it was a few weeks ago so I can't remember for certain.

Yes, it’s a subwoofer when you have the B&O stereo upgrade in it. The subwoofer sits on top of the spare wheel

You can chose, spare wheel or subwoofer.

@@FefyGT your info is incorrect. In ireland , if you spec the B&O upgraded audio system , then the subwoofer sits on top of the spare wheel. I know this as my focus has it. If you don’t have the upgraded stereo , there’s no subwoofer.

Such a shame there's not a bigger engine. The rest is about exactly what i want. This 1.0 trend needs to stop. I like it a little beefier and i like some torque in the high gears.

It’s available in the UK with the 155ps 1 litre engine

Ecoboosts are bad engines and 155ps with 3 cylinders is asking for trouble.

will got a frohen white tomorrow. ford driver since the first focus,then a fiesta ST which was a little biest, then the 2011 focus with nice leather seats and now the 2023 focus. no leather seaths anymore 🤮🤮🤮 but besides that, my 2011 focus 182PS has made 171'000KM......awesome, hate to give him away😢😢 ford forever. prices are acceptable and they make cars for over 100 years - they now exactly how to build nice cars

I was looking at buying a new one of these in an estate but they are underpowered and not sufficient to lug around the larger body. If you have a full boot and people in the back , you will have problems maintaining speed going up hills

125 Cv and 200Nm of torque is sufficient. It's not a sportcar but don' be afraid of hills and load, 3 cyl turbo gdi hybrids are basically diesels on gasoline.

@@FefyGT as far as I’m concerned , 200NM of torque is nowhere near sufficient when you have a family and items in the boot + roof box to contend with. What is the 125CV that you’re referring to ?

@@FefyGT ford focus is not a hybrid. It’s a 1.0 petrol engine in the 125bhp variant. The 155bhp one is a mild hybrid which isn’t available in ireland

@@daveomeara2419 I used to climb easily with 70hp and 112 Nm, just rev a bit more. Never used a roof box, but I don't see how an additional 100kg would stop a car.

I have the last generation Ford laser kq series a far better car than the focus!! But my baby is my fathers immaculate EK1 Honda Civic sedan 1997 worth more than a laser or focus! Any one got $40grand ??.
