had the same problem on my Ford Galaxy 1.8tdci 2006. It was the tube between the map sensor and EGR valve that was cracked. changed the tube and the car was okay.

In my galaxy it was egr valve not closing properly. After replacing for new one and little ride engine management light went off by itself and there's no limp mode any more. By the way egr is hidden well in this setup.

With my Ford Galaxy the problem was DPF filter. Was blocked that is why loosing power and display engine malfunction.

I fixed mine......changed injector....cylinder 3 injector....code p1203

Yes...same problem with me......so I changed injector...so its fix...bought from scrapyard for £40.....fixed

I did plugged into code Reader it gave me P1169 and P1168 P1169 FORD - Fuel Rail Sensor In-Range High Failure need to change Fuel pressure sensor it will be on the fuel rail where the injector are easy to change and clean the code hope it helps

Any one watching this had identical problems, no limp mode, restarts after a short while? i have the identical problem i just wish that the guy who did the vid would reply, asks for peoples help may even have found the answer to the problem but does not let the watchers know what it was. Come on mike if you are reading this let us know mate. thanks

Press and hold break pedal and exelerate then turn ur ignition on do not start the car wait abot 20 sec then pres ok button on steering wheel if you have one if not after 20 sec leave the pedals then turn the key off take it out and put back in then start the car.

I think Cihan, means it resets the warning of the engine malfunction warning. I've tried this as my galaxy has this popping up and it pops back up again after a few mins of driving. My galaxy has this fault as mentioned but when I stop the car and turn it back on as usual it disappears and runs fine again for a few more minutes then pops back up again. I've just had it serviced and have had the car plugged in to a diagnostic machine and isn't showing and faults in the car at all. I'm going mad if anyone can help me I'd be grateful.

same happend to me an mondeo mk4 1.8tdci. error will go away if you 'll turn off the engine and turn on again. made a diagnose and it appeared to be EGR valve.

same here, 1.8 tdci 2008 monedo, changed all injectors, blanked egr valve, new fuel filter, new cam shaft sensor, new fuel regulator sensor, clean the maf sensor which is the air intake sensor, new air filter, changed the diesel supplier only BP recommended for my mondeo , and it's still misfiring in hard acceleration sometimes it cut out with malfunction engine light, I'm still thinking to update the ecu software ans well could be the timing belt or MAP sensor or the fuel valve regulator which is attached to the fuel pump, the only other option I think it could be and cause all this deadly moment on the road, shame on ford don't worth the money for a ford I did a mistake to buy one

The 1.8 tdci is a completely different engine to the 2.0L and 2.2L tdci and few components are the same if any. there may be some similarities between the fuel tank and lines up to the engine bay but not much more. this explains it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratorq_engine

I got the same issue Just like that when i go uphill my ford losses its power and malfunction pop up Issue was in MAF sensor After replacing that i got no issue at all

replace your fuel filter and need to clean your sparflug or change a new sparflug

Hi sorry for late reply on the code reader it came up fault on the turbo. Car was under warranty and had a new turbo put in. 18 months later problem has occurred again.everytime I put my foot down just cuts out into idle

had same problem in my s max it was the intercooler tube that was cracked if you put your hand under the tube you can fill some air

Hi, on you car when this happens do you get limp mode or does the car just cut out and display engine malfunction with out displaying the little engine managment light. Have you had the codes read when this happens?, when this happens to mine it cuts out , no limp mode and no engine light. i leave it for a while and turn it back on and its all fine no message. some times when it happens i just keep cranking it with a short brake in between and it restarts. if you did have fault codes what are they. cheers steve

@Yuval Caspi I got the same problem on 2.0 tdci s max 58, just started happening yesterday had the car only a week. Did you fix yours? What was the problem?
