Yeah, I'd be checking the injectors and valve lash settings before condemning the engine....of course, if metal is found in the filter that seals it's fate. A 400 Big Cam with jakes WOULD be great, though.

That ol red dumper reminds me of my great uncles who passed away almost 2 yrs ago now that's all he ran as dump trucks is the fords he had 2 of them

I tried to get my boss to get a FedEx truck but he went to Penske instead. Keep it swap the box but keep the box as a storage building. The race car hauler is a great idea as well. Noticed the check engine light went off as well. I do agree, that is a beautiful peace of land.

Depending on the height of the box, you may even be able to put an upper deck and make it able to haul two cars, put an elevator type ramp on the back.

I was thinking the same thing about the FedEx truck! Lol and you can name it the janitors closet!!! Love the videos, and the cab overs my dad had a k100 when I was a kid and my job was to hit the Jake breaks.

Well, I tell you what, the old Ford dump is moving down the road pretty good, and sounds great, also. And looks like that is driving great. So I bet that you have got you a pretty good dump truck. I like the older smaller Ford trucks, but in the bigger truck line, Peterbilt big trucks are my favorite, and the only way to go as for me. I have been around Peterbilt trucks since 1989 and they are beautiful trucks that will haul you down the road with a load.

Be a great race car hauler ! You can certainly set up a set of ramps tha5 can stow away under the box , it’s an awesome set up no trailers to tangle with . All one unit set up . A lot less time loading an unloading . All your gear in one place all the time 👍

Go for the race car hauler!! You can always hook a trailer on if you wind up with additional cars. Friend of mine in Oklahoma did that to haul 3 dragsters.

1:08 Love cabovers but man you're right that one would take tons of work to restore. Can only save so many and that one will live on as being parts for a more solid truck.

Sounds like a good idea to me! Build a race car hauler out of it because when I was a kid my dad and I used to tow a boat even though it was just a 14 foot rowboat and we had to pay for each axle going through the toll booth so that was three axles $.50 each. I don’t know how many axles your car trailer has, But I also don’t know what the cost is per axle and a toll anymore. But if you have to pay for each axle go ahead build that into a race car hauling truck because I think it will come out awesome! Good luck on everything!

I wouldn't go commercial either 🧡 the chanel. Yes top end tap, not knocking yet, but just make double sure to set proper cam follower gap when you set the valves. Some people do not realize Cummins need the Top End set at minimum every 300,00 miles. Ever shop I ever worked in, that is where we did them. And seemed to be the s.weet spot

If you don’t end up doing anything with that L9000 I could sure use the bed and rear ends from it if you go to part it out. A buddy had a Big cam 2 in an S model spin a cam bearing, but it didn’t knock bad just had low oil pressure. they tapped into the main oil galley after the filter housing and ran a straight line up to the head and tapped and plumbed it in to the jakes so they had full pump pressure. That engines still running with 5 psi oil pressure at warm idle. They’re tough.

We called that dump truck “Ole Shakey”. Was a pretty good old truck, a little heavy & a weird shift pattern but a pretty good old truck.
