Ford Maverick Adding Larger All-Terrian Tires to a 2022 XLT FX4 4K

The FX4 stock Pirelli tires were "ok", but were showing some wear past 35,000 miles and I was excited to move to a slightly larger All-Terrain Tire. I spent a lot of time researching before deciding on the Firestone Destination AT2 in a 235/70R17 size.

I've had these tires before on my last truck. They're very quiet, ride nicely, had been fantastic in rain and standing water, and were quite good in snow too. I actually just bought these same tires in 235/65R17 for my Maverick for the same reason, the weight -- only 28 lbs. I could have gotten a huge deal on the original design Destination ATs in 245/65R17 -- still used on the Cherokee Trailhawk, but they're a heavier tire, too. Now I will admit, I had installed heavier all-terrain tires on my Cherokee years ago and honestly ended up actually getting fantastic highway mileage; so I'd say not just the weight/tread pattern/inflation individually that will make or break the results you'll see, but probably the combination of them all along with how you drive -- and I didn't drive my Cherokee as conservatively as I do my Maverick. So, I do expect a little drop in mileage due to the tread/weight, at least for daily commute usage, but I wouldn't be overly surprised to see highway mileage remain more or less hold consistent.

No one mentions this, 2022 maverick lifted with rough country 2in. 2457017 installed. Mileage went from 24.7 to 24.3 mpg average.

I bought the previous generation of these tires twice on F-150s and they were great tires.

Been running 235 Falken Wildpeaks on my Bronco Sport for the past two years. Going to run them on my new '23 Mav all year. Great grip and quiet on the road. Great tires.

Love the more beefy treed. But with the size differance from stock did your mile per hour change? I have the 18s on my Larait and was thinking of going down to the 17s for mor side wall.

I’m off 2 mph at 70mph display = 72 mph actual but at lower speeds less noticeable.
