Please not that this only works on vehicles that have the vapouriser unit. DW10-C variants. (FL) Also you need to be careful with your wiring and please fuse the lead near to the relay as there is a lot of current available in that circuit. If the wire grounds, especially the thickness used in the video, you'll have a fire in the wrong place.

Hello , I wanna connect a led regeneration for my ford c-max 2015 2.0 ; I found the relay probably with this description : R3 Diesel particulate filter vaporizer; please confirm that this is the relay and of course I should connect to no 5 pin . Thx

Good Idea - am I correct in thinking, the LED lights during regen (under normal driving) and goes out once process is complete ? Nice to know when Regen is taking place, so you can continue to drive until LED goes out. Plus it is good to get a 'visual' that a) it is happening b) frequently. I have a 2010 Mondeo Titanium X and after moving house it does not get driven much at all, instead lots of very short town-trips; I find myself taking the car for a drive just to encourage the car to regen every two weeks or so - however after a few weeks of NOT doing this, I got the engine light and low power symptoms; long story short & €950 later I had the DPF washed, Injector replaced and new diff pressure sensor fitted. The car is perfect for me only for the fact it is a Diesel....so I want/need to keep for another 2-3 years. This hack is welcome for me as I could now monitor DPF regen activity. Is there a hack that will report OBD soot levels to a Red Dashboard LED ... ??

According to the Fusebox diagram, this Relay controls power to the Glow Plugs. Can you explain your electric operation?

Inside the Vapouriser (dpf) is a small glow plug.

Hi Sulyok. Just wonder if youre able to see the finish of the regen. Signal for this 5th pin starts and stops regen with impulse - am I right? Thats why you used relay led ?

Do not stop the car while regeneration is in progress. Thus, the particle filter will have a long service life. Relay switches regeneration.

I have the 2011 2.0 tdci 140hp, and I'm thinking to put a wireless 12v trasmisor to not have to pass a wire, with a led lights receptor inside the habitacle. Do you think could be neccesary a fuse? Not wired instsllation, only the transmisor inside de fuse box. Thanks

Szia, nagyon érdekes és hasznos a videod. Említette a szerelőmnek mert cirka 1 év alatt kétszer szívtam be hogy kiégetés közben sikerült visszalasítani. Most gondolkozom hogy ez vagy a folyamatos OBD figyelés. Canbus rendszert ez nem zavarhatja be?

Szia, Nekem 4 éve van bent és semmi bibát nem generált. Szerintem ez a legegyszerűbb és legjobb megoldás. Menet közben egyből látom, hogy bekapcsol ilyenkor fontos, hogy még motor féket sem szabad használni, tehát el kell térni a megszokott vezetési stílustól amikor bekapcsol. Az a lényeg ha legalább alapjárati üzemanyagot kap akkor végig tudja vinni a folyamatot. Sokan mondják, hogy felesleges, mert a fogyasztásból látni amikor bekapcsol, de kizárt az ilyet menet közben figyelni és a motor fékezés miatt is meg szokta szakítani a regenerálást. Egy szó mint száz amikor bekapcsol egy fokozatot visszakapcsolok és figyelek, hogy ne használjak motorféket (max üresbe teszem). Remélem tudtam segíteni.

You can do it with a proper ELM327 adapter (like OBDLink) and you can use FORScan on a laptop/Android phone to activate it by hand.

Yes it works. LED will light when the regeneration is running. The part of the relay Led + join with 5 contact. The part of the LED - join with GND. (Do not use fuse, you need relay.)

No point to any of this at all? I just use a bottle of Wyns DPF cleaner additive only £11.20 from eBay, and add to my fuel tank every 2000 MLS and have had no problems whatsoever! I only drive short local trips and it works great, when I first bought the car, after about a week the engine management light appeared and it was a DPF problem but using the additive regularly has cleared it permanently. 🤗 Ford would've built this light into the dashboard if it was necessary, I personally wouldn't muck about with it and bodge it like that unless you want to cause a short-out or fire under your bonnet!😬

Or just buy a car suitable for your needs. These diesels are for longer journeys, not short trips to the shop. If thats what you need a car for then buy a 1.0 petrol. 3 years and 70k miles and ive never noticed my 2.2 mondeo do a regen. If i no longer need to do lomg journeys I'll buy a petrol, simple.

Az a relé az mit vezérel?És amikor kigyullad a led akkor mi lép működésbe?

A részecskeszűrő regenerációját vezérli. Amikor kigyullad a lámpa akkor nem szabad leállítani a motort és ha lehet akkor 2500as fordulat felett tartani, hogy a lerakódás ki tudjon égni. Amennyiben a rendszeres regeneráció nem tud lefutni hamarabb tönkremegy a részecskeszűrő ami elég drága költség. Mivel a lámpa hiányában csak akkor tudsz róla, hogy regenerációt végez az autó ha folyamatosan nézed a pillanatnyi fogyasztást ami ilyenkor egy picit megugrik ezért hasznosabb a lámpa jelzése szerintem.

Első körben a ledet cserélném egy normál 12V izzóra, megnézném a relét valóban működik-e. Jól oda lett forrasztva a vezeték a reléhez? Biztos, hogy végez regenerációt az autó? Mennyit mentél vele a beszerelés óta?

Anyós ülés oldalán be lehet jutni csak ne add fel. Van egy köteg ami ott megy be mellette el tudod vinni a kábelt.

mělo by to jít taky. Komunikuji s borcem, který to nainstaloval letos přesně dle onoho návodu (bez pojistky) na S-maxe 2007. Sám nyní instaluji do Ford Galaxy, rv 2008, 2.2 TDCi, EURO 4

How it works and why the light may come onThe Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is part of your exhaust and controls the 'soot' that would otherwise be expelled from the system. You may have noticed that modern diesels no longer leave you in a cloud of smelly black smoke when they accelerate off.The filter collects a certain amount of these harmful deposits and then burns them off at an extremely high temperature (450 degrees c). In normal driving this will happen without you being aware but on continued short journeys the particals can build up and remain 'stuck' in the system. It's at this point the warning light will come on and your intervention is required. How to clean, clear and reset (regenerate) the systemYou should drive your vehicle for approximately 5-15 minutes (While the lamp is on) keeping the engine revs between 2000 - 2500 rpm. This is probably best done on an A road. Keep the car in a lower than normal gear (use 'S' on an automatic) in order to keep the revs up.

There isn't any requirement for keeping the engine revs in any particular range on this vehicle. DPF regeneration is all closed loop on the exhaust. So long as the engine is running the regeneration should be successful.

Absolutely pointless 😄 you don't need to know it's doing it and it works on short journeys and even in traffic.
