Nice one Tony, the only thing i do different is the grades of paper once i have used p80 to take down the initial filler i never use 80 again i have found 120 takes things down just as quick but reduces the risk of sand scratches i then switch to 180-240-320 where needed sometimes if its a good sanding primer some grades can be missed out, then i always finish the primed areas with p500 on a small orbit da sander with the interface pad and use a top quality p800 for any blend areas

+jason evans see we dont use 120 at all in our shop lol, and personally i just dont see the need to prep higher than p400 on a solid colour but on metalics ect i do prep up to p500 on the da and then do my blend panels with scotch and paste or p800 , i find the p800 gives a cleaner finsih and overall job though i have to say

a solid color with 240.and 400 with a DA,, what would you do with a metallic Da with a 600 ??
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 8 жыл бұрын
+Tosh twentythree (tosh 23) yeah mate best way to get a nice finish on a job like this i think and persnally for a solid clour i dont thing theres any point going to a higher grade, for metalics then i would finish with a 500 no higher as i just dont think theres need to and then either scotch or p800 my blend panels

Hey Tony, How are Those hook and loop disc? I was told that you can't really get a true finish blocking because of the hook and loop pad is not solid

Tony Im a big fan of your channel. I have learned a lot. I am doing a black car on a guys small budget. Do you think I could do the 240-400 and be ok on black? Thanks
@TonysRefinishingTV
@TonysRefinishingTV 8 жыл бұрын
+Dwayne ST.CLAIR hi yes i dont see why not at all , personally id maybe go 320 then 500 on black it will give it that nicer finish
@MrProxl

Thank you very much for the advice. I ended up going 320-600. Fingers crossed.

+Dwayne ST.CLAIR that will be fine mate just 400 can be abit to harsh sometimes on the colours that you want that real deep gloss on and super flat look too
