The clock spring also works with your traction control and stability control. That way it know what way your turning the wheel. I had one go bad in my 07 Edge.

I have heard this in the past but never confirmed it. Good to know. I have never had any issues turning my traction control on or off so that’s a good thing. Thanks for the input brother!

Was gonna get one for my Focus ST but lack of air bag sketches me out. I got shit too for looking into it. It’s a nice looking wheel and love it’s from ford performance

Hey I bought exactly what you had listed below. Might want to add a note that you will need chamfered screws for the steering wheel to the quick disconnect. Only thing I didnt have. Stainless and head to hardware store. Other than that rock on. Mine looks just like yours except I but a button spacer between from jegs🤘

Did you modify the wiring so you can still use any of the steering wheel buttons functionality? Or what are you doing about all that? I think I could get away with adding a button plate with only two buttons on it.

I wish I could find one of these with "Ford Racing" instead of "Ford Performance" (name change back in 2019 or so). Since that's not possible, I'm gonna save about $40 and get the Sparco branded version of the same steering wheel.

I’ve been heavily considering something similar to this; if not exactly this. I think I could get away with adding a button plate that I only had two buttons on it. What are you do if you need to use any of the steering wheel button functionality?

when looking at adapters do you have to worry about anything other than the amount of bolts it has? looking into putting a new steering wheel in my car and i don't know if i have to know anything more than the amount of bolts needed for the adapter

I feel ya! I want to find a way to route the steering wheel buttons down below the column and behind that plastic panel so when I want to use them I have them. Not sure if it’s possible yet, just an idea at this time.

Need a quick answer guys! I'm really leaning to do the whole quick release thing but the only downfall I see is i use my info and reset buttons on my stock steering wheel quiet often and wondering if there is anyway I can still use them with a aftermarket wheel???

There's actually both. T20 for the plastic trim pieces and T15 for the clock spring.

No I had to swap to the original wheel a year ago to pass inspection and I just now got around to reinstalling this wheel... I don’t know that I am that dedicated to a video to reinstall, uninstall and install a new one. Lol.

How much length do you gain my steering wheel is about 4 inch to far away? O and picked up a gt 500 over the gt 350 do to engine problems and the car is may main transportation to work.

Nice dude! Congrats on the GT509, what year? I am not sure on the overall length. I can take a measurement and let you know. Just base it off of yours as they should be the same if yours is a S197.

Nah, you need a hub adapter and you can buy a quick release separately

The woke youth think they will die in a crash without an airbag. airbags didn't because required until 1998. I'd guess most of the haters weren't born yet or still in diapers. my first two cars i got in accidents with and neither had airbags.
