Thank you for the video, I had the same message plus a MAF Fault code. Changed the sensor after checking the Ohms of the old one and now its running spot on. The sensor couldnt be much eaiser to get to aswell, very refreshing! Thanks again

ive got this issue and it has been more so when the cold weather has come. had guy replace the mass airflow sensor and also has a slight bleed on the turbo pipe. after watching your video ive ordered a new sensor lets have fingers crossed its this makes sence if its ok when the weather is hot

I’ve had this same problem all through the winter on my 2015 2.2. My local mechanic has said the code it’s showing is for mass air flow but there’s definitely nothing wrong (blamed software issue). Good video and great info

@@claytonpreece51 Do a ohm's test on it when you get it, if they are miles apart on the readings, there's your issue.

I've just replaced the Maf sensor on mines and although is running slightly better however I still get the Engine Service Light coming on? I have noticed that it seems the revs are surging??? Any ideas and what sorted yours out?

Mines exactly the same. But it Keeps throwing up the code P00BD mass air/flow sensor. Ive replaced the main sensor on the intake. I will have to try this sensor now. Thanks for the video mate

Hope it works mate. It transformed mine, it idled better and seems to pull harder, and its smoother to drive, yet there were no fault codes stored, just got the warning on the dash 'service engine now'. Good luck

@@ANDYPEARCY1 my van was fine till I had it remapped. I had it mapped and then it flagged up this code. Now I'm thinking the issue must be this sensor. The remap was Great though, i had it took off too see if that was causing the issue, but it wasn't. I think the sensor just gave up. Hopefully anyways 😜

Hi - can I check this is the correct part number F1719362. Mines a 2.2 2015 Custom - I didn't realise these had intercoolers. fyi - local garage wants to plug in diagnostics and even suggested mouse damage. Thank you so much for this.

Mines a 2014 and it says engine servicer now but its just flickering on and off. Could this be the same problem however its around 20degress at the moment so it isnt cold related

Did you experience significant engine power output loss when the warning "Engine Service Now" came up. From the way you described it, the problem looks very similar to mine.

Yes, wouldn't pull skin off a rice pudding, cycle ignition off and back on and would be ok for a mile or so until it did it again. Hope this helps

@@klyxrasta No problem. If you have a multi meter, just remove yours and test resistance and see whether your figures are similar to the ones shown in the video. Hope you sort it

Its located under the right hand side, in the intercooler. Accessed from underneath.

Hi , i got a transit custom 2.2 2016 ,( 160,000 miles ) had this warning come up engine service now , had a service done and the warning is still there ? then i had to go gatwick one night , went really slow going up a hill , would this issue you're highlighting be the cause .

Hi, is yours the 2.2?. They are the same symptoms as I had and its a cheap sensor, so I would remove it and change, or at least measure the resistance as I did in the video, and if its dramatically different to my figures there's your answer. Hope that helps.

On your back, slide under the front bumper slightly towards the rh side, looking up at the intercooler and near the bottom of it is the sensor. Held in by a torx. Unplug and measure the value of resistance shown in this video with a multimeter. If its out of spec, refit a new one.

Hello , this is great , But can't find it , please can you send a Pic please , my symptoms are When a drive about 1/4/mile the engines stops, I have to wait about 20mins to cool down then will start again and do the same , Is this the same problem??? Regards

To be honest, with those symptoms, it could literally be anything. Have you had a code scan for direction / freeze frame data? This could be your issue but if you can get access to a diagnostic scan, look through live data and look for something that stands out as can be correct, like say a temp sensor saying its 88 degrees when its cold. This specific sensor is easy to find on the 2.2 variant van, not sure if its the same location on the 2.0 van, lay on your back, slide under the centre and as soon as you see the intercooler its above you to the right, green plastic, one torx screw holding it in place. Hope you find the problem.

Ive just looked at my engine which is a 2016 2.o ford custom and have just started it up, when it came to a bit of tempreture it cut out like said earlier , I have removed a plug out of curiosity and behold it is not cutting out anymore and have also run it to full tempreture , Would you know what this plug does ? It is the only plug with a orange coloured release plug on it or is there any pictures anywhere of this engine with names of parts I can look up please. of course I still have the service message still coming up and the orange small icon with the letter i in it ,,Kind Regards

@@perfectocleaning7285 ok, inbetween the drivers side headlamp and the ford badge, slide under the bumper, look up, and its there straight above you in the intercooler, not high up, in line with the sump, you'll see it in the plastic end of the intercooler.
