Ceiling panels and lighting are finally in! Almost of month of weekend prep work and lots and lots of dry-fitting to make sure ceiling panels would line up just where we wanted them to land.
We covered ceiling panels with 1/4-inch Landau foam and a white marine vinyl made by Sunbrella.
Prior to installing ceiling panels, we added Low-e EZ-cool reflective insulation foil between thinsulate and panel for one extra layer of insulation.
Shout-Outs to the following companies for great products we used in this installation!

Love this video, im about to install a similiar ceiling on.my transit. Did you use anything in the front of the ceiling in between the blobs to help hold the ceiling panels? It looks like you have a good tight fit there.

Thank you! So, the first panel nearest the front is held in place by 6 fasteners-a row of 3 near the edge and then another row of 3 in line with the lights. They are screwed into furring strips attached to ceiling. There are no attachments near the front of the panel. We are just relying on the curvature of the van ceiling to ever so slightly bend the front part to hold the panel in place. So, essentially the front edge is just floating. We have had no issues- the panel doesn’t move or squeak, and it fits up nicely against the headliner.

Awesome look. What are the panels? 1/4” birch?

Yes, the panels are 1/4 inch Baltic birch. We bought the wall and ceiling kit from AVC Rig pre-cut, which saved us a lot of time. We did buy a few pieces of the 1/4 inch Baltic birch to re-cut a few pieces where we didn’t want seams, and used the wall kit pieces as the template. This was mainly for the pieces around the windows and flares.

What kind of vinyl did you use? Was it Marine vinyl? How is that behaving with heat inside the van? Did you use any kind of foam between the Vinyl and the wood ceiling? Great work! It looks awesome!

We used a Sunbrella vinyl from Sailrite, which is a 4way stretch fabric. We live in Texas on the Gulf Coast, and our van has sat outside in the hot Texas heat for a year and the vinyl has held up beautifully! We do have 1/8 inch landau foam underneath it between the wood and vinyl.

Looks great, very clean! I'm moving on to my ceiling install and have a few questions if you don't mind. - How did you attach the furring strips? Self tapping screws? - Similarly, how did you attach the structural steel. I ordered the same thing from Titan and haven't quite decided the best way to install them. And do you have any pics showing how you installed the steel piece at the front by the foam blobs? - What screws did you use for the ceiling? I think they look pretty good and was hoping to use something similar. Thanks!

Thanks for the comments! We attached the furring strips with Teks 1 7/16" self drilling wood to metal screws. These were okay but I did find a couple of the holes would strip due to the penetrating point on the screw making the hole too large for the threads to really grab. Repositioning the same screw in a new hole worked every time. We used 3/16" rivets for most of the Titan Structural Steel. We may have used a smaller diameter to add a reinforcement strip at one point. We did not use the Titan structural steel support that spans the towards the foam blobs. I found that the ceiling had a more natural curve by leaving these out. There is a lot of pressure on both the front and back of the front ceiling panel given the curvature of the panel and it is not moving once attached. It helps to have 2 to do the ceiling panel installs. We used #10 Stainless Oval Head Screws in 1"-1.5" length with #10 Stainless Finishing Washers for the ceiling.
