I changed both noisy front wheel bearings (plus a spare), without special tools (ie no hydraulic press) and without a sledge hammer! The main tools are an angle grinder, a puller and sockets; strangely the puller and sockets is to both help extract the old bearing and to press the new bearing onto the shaft!!
I saved about €750 on garage charges on a Transit van Mk7 van, which is now much smoother and quieter to drive. More importantly, I've avoided yet another breakdown!!!!!
The principles shown here probably can be applied to any vehicle wheel bearing.

19:59 Trying to pull the Bearing from the Hub with a 3-legged puller which may leave an inner race behind which can then be pulled off individually with the 3-legged puller - The preferred method!
20:17 3-legged puller - The preferred method! Now onto a method using concocted male and female threads, an old bearing and nuts/washers/sockets - if available. This can use an incomplete puller.

24:42 A Bearing inner race is often left behind on the Hub Shaft. Try a puller otherwise use the Angle Grinder / Hammer / Pipegrips or similar (with care not to damage the Hub Shaft bearing surface)
27:02 Pushing the New Bearing onto the Hub Shaft using 'Concocted Parts' again (which may include the main threaded parts of a puller, plus a suitable socket and something strong to cover the Hub Shaft splined` bore but clear the Bearing bore (I used a 'nut' from an angle grinder).
