Hey guys, in this video we will be doing an oil change on our Motorhome. It is equipped with the 6.8 v10 Ford Triton engine. Some models and years might require different oil and capacity.
Always make sure that you get oil that is approved by Ford and do not overfill it because the extra oil might cause damage to the catalytic converters. This might help on Ford F350 e450 e350 with the v10 6.8 Triton Engine.

When the filter is in that position I fill it, to help with start up. Good video.

It helps to loosen the oil fill cap while draining the oil to allow air inside and provide better draining.

Heads up folks!!! I have several of these vans and some crown vics !! 5W-20 is WAYYYYYYY to thin like water for these !! I recommend 5W-30 or 10W30.......even 10W-40 if you live in a hot climate and no need to use Motorcraft unless your vehicle is still under warranty

I use 10w 30w in my V10, 5w 20w is like water, gets hot here in Alabama, no problems in 10 years.

I noticed that weight on the oil you used is two different weights. The big one is 20 & the small one is w30

Thanks sharing this video. It was very helpful. I have a ‘96 class c rv with the same engine. I’m starting to have problem with the engine shutting of after driving it for about 2 hours. It seems the fuel stops getting the engine. Any ideas of what may be the problem? Also, if you could create a video showing where the fuel components are located it would be very helpful.

I had that same problem. Turned out to be the ignition module. Especially when it was hot out.

I love my V10, but if I use 5-30 oil it uses a quart every 900 miles, if I use 10-30 it uses a qt every 2000 miles so imma keep using 10-30.

your 6th quart was the wrong weight oil for the engine. Nobody noticed the wrong / mismatched quart?? part of being a great mechanic is paying attention to the small details. one qt of 5 w 30 will not hurt , but its still not the correct fluid.

All gasoline Econoline vans use 6qts of 5W20 1997-2014.

older 2valve 5w30.. ford switched to 3valve in 2004.

My '02 E350 V10 says 5W-20 on the cap. Is that wrong?

Christian Holmstedt All yrs of the e350/e450 Ford chassis cabs (class c RV) only have the 2 valve engines due to space constraints. Dog house/Van engine bay issue... Class A chassis, F series, etc can have the 3 valve 6.8L after certain years.

It's all the 350s V10??? I got a 350 trying to find out if its a 6.8 or 5.4 and how many quarts do I need!

My 2001 V10 uses 7 quarts.6.8 is a V10, 5.4 is a V8.

Why did you mix oil weights, 5-20 and 5-30? You didn't check the air filter, the tranny (yes, I said tranny), the differential, brake fluid, (all of which are way past due for changing), didn't grease the chassis, check the tires. You did an incomplete servicing. And geez, wash that filthy engine bay.
