Presumably this engine was damaged due to overheating on a track day and then runs with loud knocking. After all work was done, no error messages appear on dashboard, the engine runs perfect

When you see an engine stripped back like this, with its 1000s of individual tiny components, all delicately and perfectly machined, carefully installed with precision, you realise what a miracle it is that it even runs, let alone (often) lasts for decades with minimal maintenance. It’s beyond impressive.

It's amazing to see a video like this. The majesty of Ferrari pulled apart and... humanized? We are so used to seeing vehicles like this absolutely prestine with nary a speck of dirt in a white gloved environment and suddenly there is grease and grime and skinned knuckles (and did I see a waterfall of dirt when the sub-frame came apart?) It becomes almost pedestrian to see it in such a state. What a cool video and massive kudos to the gentlemen who did the work. Beautiful car, and all the more to see it broken down to its base constituents and reassembled with consummate skill.

As someone who struggles placing valve stem covers back on after airing the tires, how anyone in this line of work can tear down an engine of any size, keeping track of every nut and bolt is absolutely mind-boggling to me. Mad respect to ALL the mechanics out there!!!

@@Cynsham I washed a Subaru ej25 and mitsubishi 6g74 block once, never again. I've built a few engines and the only ones that I had hiccups were with washed blocks. I still don't know what I did wrong, after several oil changes etc, the Subaru span bearings all on stock and the 6g74 takes ages to crank and shreds bearings looking at the oil but runs fine after starting. Checked fuel pumps, GDI pump, crank and cam sensor + timing plate, compression, injectors, fuel pressure sensor etc etc etc horror stories
