Thanks Sarah, it has been a long haul, but I got there in the end. just one little niggle for next week, and that is it has stopped charging the battery which means the cutout needs sdjusting again! I am going to do some much shorter projects next, as a form of rest!! Phil

I an not buying any more projects till all my existing projects are completed, and all my machinery is finished and set up! I did see a landie the other day complete and running and mot,d tatty inside and out with a duff gearbox , for £1750 which doesnt sound like a lot for a perkins conversion with a galv chassis, but I did a bare chassis resto on a swb 11A in the seventies, and another would be boring, for me anyway! thanks Jon! You know it was Del, I am not an exoerienced tractor man like a lot of my mates, but I have done my share of tip carting in harvest, and helped move loads of soil and rubble on various projects. On one occasion I went to see a local farmer to borrow a tractor and trailer for the weekend to move some rubble, and was given a brand new John Deere with 40 hours on the clock, I managed to put not a scratch on it, but was I nervous? you bet I bloody was!! Thanks Joseph, it does feel really good because it was a long project, but tbh all I have done to the engine is clean out the fuel filter can and fit a filter (there wasnt a filter in it if you remember) and out antifreeze in the cooling system, although many on youtube will not have seen it run before. Given the state of the filter bowl I am amazed it ran at all! The engine rebuild you are doing looks like a much better engine than the one on my wheelhorse! I think Kohler my have continued increasing the power output of their basic engine till it could stand no more and regularly blew up!! Phil

@@philhermetic We do like Tecumseh engines but we have a friend who collects Wheelhorses and he refuses to buy anything without a Kohler in. I am not sure who is right :-)

@@GardenTractorBoy AH! its not all the Kohler engines by any means, but they carried on increasing the power on a much earlier design of smaller engine by just increasing the bore size etc, I think it was the 14.5hp engine that proved to be the last straw and was known as an engine that blew up by snapping the con rod every time, either that or there was a bad batch of conrods! The guy I got it off had the engine proffesionaly rebuilt three times , each one lasting less than 2 years, from exactly the same fault @ about £600 per rebuild, so no wonder he gave it to me really! No more tractors, at least for a while! I have a stack of projects standing in the workshop, just waiting for me to start them! ! Phil
