My uncle bought a new Fordson super major in 1962 …… I am from Iraq 🇮🇶

My father and his brothers had 2 . One was a super major and the other was an older major. The engines were amazingly. Only weakness was the hydraulic. The rubber seals needed to be changed. Brought Bach childhood memories. Was used in rice field

There is still a strong market for these sort of good, solid basic tractors ............ without a load of electronics and built to last long enough to hand down to your great grandchildren!

My godfather had one, not to sure of year., in North Queensland of Australia. On the cane farm it was his main tractor, with his other a Fiat 513r. What a workhorse, till it’s day got to much in the late 80’s. Thank you for reigniting my beautiful memories ... thank you

what a beauti , lots of time money and parts , it will go on forever if minded and kept dry ,,well done Michael , you must be real proud of the Major she looks brand new , , i used to work on them as a lad they had wet liners ,handier engine than the perkins to work on ,well done

Beautiful, my unkel bought a new one in 1965 in Holland. I drive it when i was 16 years. I have nice memories.

What a lovely tractor. My father bought one in 1977 for $500 Australian and we used it every day for years. I am not sure about the engine, the Super major didnt have decompression leaver or the noisy injector pump coupling. The grey mudguard Fordson is one of my favourite tractors

The Super major had mechanical governor white grey mudguards disc brakes and a different lift .

Spent many hours working on one of these and I’d recognise the sound anywhere. We also had a petro/paraffin one, great work horses

ahead of there time dual clutch direct injection great engines everything was great on these tractors

Nuffield had a better dual clutch, the major 2-stage pedal was never that good.

The spring starter I didn't know about. I’ve never seen it here in Brazil. It was in this model that I ended up seeing the system and then I saw that it is very widespread in the USA. A very old technology and incredibly useful.

I believe the engine was a dagenheim 220. they made a 6 cyl version used in 2 ton trucks.

Have you checked the casting codes for the Tractor? Looks very smart but there are one or two points that make me think this might have been an earlier Super.
