Today Craig finishes up our series on U.S. Government and Politics by talking about both the least and most important aspect of government: foreign policy. Foreign policy is important because it has the potential to affect the largest number of people, but at the same time, it tends to play a minimal role in our perception of the government (unless we’re at war). Foreign policy addresses diplomacy, security, human rights, economics, and the environment at a global scale, and we’re going to talk about how our government has approached each of these policies in the past and which it tends to hold most important. As with all things political, the decisions made in fulfilling these policies can be pretty controversial, especially when considering that the President often has the last word in these issues.
We hope this series has helped you better understand the way the U.S. government works and hopefully encouraged you to participate in the political process - here or wherever you may live. Thank you so much for watching!

I want to sincerely thank you guys for helping me study for my A.P. U.S. Government and Politics Exam. I binge watched your videos in the last couple of days before the exam. Watching your videos, using flashcards to study, looking over tests through the school year, and reading over my textbook helped me to get a 5 on the exam. This helps me even more for my future because I would like to major in Pre-Law or Political Science when I go to college. This will help lower the cost of college. So from the bottom of my heart thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you for this series. I am not from the US and found the views interesting - also that while produced in the US, you did not sugar coat everything (as economical grows > environmental policy). I am just in general thankful, that you provide indepth and yet entertaining education for free. I would like to know more about that table-discussion... seriously, what... how??? (and yeah, that's what i take from these videos... the most important aspects)

Good show crash course. Whenever I talk about foreign policy everyone looks at me like it doesn't matter. My problem/fear is that even when electing officials, we seem to only be focusing on "how they effect us" instead of the rest of the world. War is a far bigger problem than tax policy, allies/enemies are more important than building statues, and so on... Simple fact is that America has the rest of its existence to debate taxes, minimum wage, economic divide and such, but foreign policy changes daily and the effects can be lasting. We change tax policy and domestic law every year, while there are countries who've threatened and hated us for +50 years. Nice work crash course & Craig.
