The large barge was an LCM-3. The tugboat was an armored PCF. There are probably dozens of these craft still in Vietnam.

It's amazing this small tugboat is still able to work most places in the world the marine authorities would have placed a repaire or scrap order on it as a safety mandate , it could be fixed but it would probably more expensive than building new because you pay to remove rust before placing new steel in its place

@@edmctug8800 the hardest surveys are by surveyor's from the ex navy's or from the ex overseas fleet ,one surveyor's once handed me a list of equipment he wanted fitted in the engine space that wouldn't have fitted on board with out crew and fuel , I've had engine spaces we're the deck and floors had to be lifted just to service the horizontal engine . And it worked for that we tug , happy memories to to all safe and happy times ahead ,cheers

It was on a 3 hour tour and got marooned on a desert island with 7 people for several years. Eventually they got rescued but sold the rights to the little boat, and they patched the hull and sailed her to Viet Nam where she's still in use to this day.

I'm one of the people who love to see machines like this. People who have bad opinions of such hard working machines and people should know that saying things about the way they look might be clever, but these people are using these cool things in their lives and we are watching this video because we can't do what they are doing. I love seeing scenes of life without boring identical,brand new, plastic, disposable things. Thank you.

They were built in the 1960s. Transferred to Republic of Vietnam control in the early 1970s. Still running in 2020s.

It reminds me of my 1978 G.M.C. Truck . Too many winters with raid Salt. We called it Rust bucket for good reasons it ran good but ugly as Sin.😁

Almost took some sandpaper and a carding wheel to clean it up and repaint it. Looks like last time it was cleaned was in the ‘70’s. Thanks for the insight.

Máy rây 2 đó lợi ơi trong dòng động cơ này có 2 4 6 rồi rây 8 và 12 là lớn nhất dùng cho phà cao lãnh và phà đình khao đó nhưng kg rõ máy này có bao nhiêu mã lực chỉ vài chục gì đó nên yếu lắm

Rầu quá! Khi máy còn hoạt động tốt thì đem đóng vỏ tàu lại cho chắc chắn để mầng ăn lẩu dài. Chớ để nó bị chìm hay gảy vụn thì còn tốn kém hơn!
