You can plant Talisay tree. This is ideal for beach properties as it is a hardy tree and provides a lot of shade. Tanglad or lemon grass around the perimeter will ward off mosquitoes and snakes. Dried tanglad is perfect as beddings for the chicken nests.

Plants suggestions: 1) along your fence/walls, best will be PALMERA, BUNGA DE CHINA, RED PALM, MCARTHUR PALM. 2) near your car garage, to block the sun rays prevent heating of the garage roof, best will be direct sunlight loving plants that grow to be trees of up to 100 feet such as RUBBER PLANTS (Ficus Elastica), KALACHUCHI (with the white-yellow flowers, don't get the pink-red variety doesn't match your house colors). 3) FIDDLE LEAF FIG - they're ok for your balconies but they might not tolerate high noon direct sun so try to place them in your west-facing or east-facing balconies instead of the ones facing south or the high-noon sunlight. 4) for the lower part of your fence, you will need plants under the palm trees when they're already tall, SNAKE PLANT Laurentii is a classic, most common, and most inexpensive type that you can actually just see them growing by the road side, neighbors will probably give it you for free if they have lots of it. 5) TI PLANTS - they can be an accent to your green walls if you get the more subtle color varieties.

It always amazes me Kulas that you love bitter melon - as a kid I did not like it but love it as an adult. I remember how my father would save the seeds and grow our own umpalaya and how red and beautiful the seeds are. You are a Filipino at heart.

Seems like there is many way to get a drivers license there depending where you are in the Philippines. I noticed when you did your refresher course the instructor was not speaking English so I would fail for sure lol. Madman is quite talented at making things. I got my 5 year drivers license at the LTO by showing my US California drivers license. Much harder are the permanent visa and ACR card.

Just an FYI, every LTO office operates a bit to a lot differently. I renewed my license recently and there was no refresher course. On the other hand I also recently completed my annual report process to immigration where I also had to renew my ACR card. After everything was said and done I reviewed all the receipts and discovered an additional express lane fee. I was there for almost six hours while the guy behind the window bounced me back and forth to the photocopier and the cashier and the NBI "No Deragatory" stamp windows one trip at a time. And I have to go back in six weeks to pick up the new ACR card. There should be a minimum requirement for immigration workers working frontline positions dealing directly with the expats that they have to be able to speak at least passable English. They can aim for courteous and professioanl in another lifetime maybe.

I believe renewal/applying for drivers license now include a crash course and a whole bunch of stuff because it is now valid for 10yrs, unlike previously which is only 5yrs.

Indor plant should be having a thick leaf, cactus in nature while outdoor plants are those having a broad canopy like talisay tree, it is also strong i didn't see those tree uprooted during thypoon. Cons are you will be visited every night with fruit bats and it sheds leaves before summer months. Rambutan tree is also a good one you can harvest its fruits.

I suggest Hoya plant. There's an abundance of different Hoya species in the 🇵🇭. It is low in maintenance and the flowers are scented. It's very rare here in 🇨🇦 and it can get pricey.

You may consider putting snake plant inside your home for it gives out oxygen (or something like that) and photos you can have it hanging or in a pot or a stick plant its a cool looking plant can also be shape decorated as a live christmas tree

Kulas, you can take the seminar and exam online. You just print your test result from the portal and bring it with you to the LTO together with your medical report. It would've save you time and money.
