The lady had was the Ghavane ( Rice Dosa from Maharashtra) , Man had misal paav (spicy moth beans curry with some savouries lime coriander ) and bread bun, their son had sol kadi or kokam sarbat (Garcinia indica). Every state region has its local produce and influences the food, that's the beauty of Bharat.

Places to eat at in Mumbai: *1. Elco Pani puri - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)* - One of the best Pani puris in town. Very clean & hygienic. They use bottled mineral water to make these. So very safe to eat Pani Puris at this place. *2. Sardar Pav Bhaaji - (area - Tardeo in Mumbai)* - The best and the most buttery Paav Bhaaji on Planet Earth. *3. Bade Miyan - Late night place - is open till 3 am or so (area - near Taj hotel & the Gate way of India in Mumbai)* A late night place, patrons eat in their cars, but has a seating area as well. A suggestion......request, the eatery to make your food less spicy......and most in India will try to accommodate your request.... Few suggestions......In Mumbai, visit "Aswad" in Dadar for typical maharashtrian food and if you are planning to visit Pune, I would suggest you try "Shreyas thali" located on "Apte road" for typical maharashtrian food....the food they serve is not spicy....the only con ( for Shreyas) is that you have to compulsorily get thali for each person....so visit it when you all are really hungry! 😊 As someone mentioned, maharashtrian food is further divided area wise....coastal areas has more of coconut based curries in both veg & non-veg while the plateau areas tend to have spicy & hot food...it also tends to be a bit more oily which helps in digestion of spicy food.😅 Have a fantastic trip!
