I have been going to the City Ground as a Forest fan since 1971 but, I can fully understand why Mr Maranakis wants to build a new purpose built stadium. As a fan base we have to think about the new ground in wider terms e.g. it's not just a football ground but a venue that can accommodate music concerts, athletic meetings and business conferences etc. All of these things will bring profit into Forest and help improve the team.

The 11000 on the waiting list is a red herring. It’s a season tickets only waiting list. 7500 of the 11k are Pro members (like me) and we are guaranteed to get a ticket for every game.

I've seen new plans by architect Matt Drewitt, who is not associated with Forest. He has the same idea of what Bournemouth did by rotating the angle of their pitch many years ago. If Forest did this, it would create far more space for a potentially big redevelopment of the City Ground. Architect Matt Drewitt suggests, the ground could easily go up to 50-60,000. He suggests a 60,000 stadium because then I think it puts you into UEFA compliance. I must say it looks amazing. A must-read on Nottingham Live for all Forest fans. Let's see if the Chairman Tom Cartledge, and Mr. Marinakis, are paying attention to it?

Pay the £10m for the freehold and keep the city ground for the women’s team, friendlies, B team, training and exhibition matches, etc. you can even build a nice hotel and museum there for year round revenue. Build the new stadium elsewhere as a proper venue for prem football and concerts and the like. The city ground is an incredible place, and holds a lot of history, but we’ve been caught by the premier league - you can’t compete for mid table let alone higher unless you have the ground to get 35-40+ fans in.

Sounds like a sound plan fingers crossed 🤞 this happens be good for the women's football and academy plays to still play there in the shadows of the legends and hopes of one day playing in front of bigger crouds at the new ground pluss still get revenue from it all. Not keen on the move,but u can't live in the past if u won't to move forward

Forest don't only need a larger stadium, they need a modern stadium with many more revenue streams built in. Retrofitting the City Ground is not gonna cut it, if the goal is to be at the top of the table.

Wolvie, the revenue needs to come from somewhere. Whether that’s from the clubs infrastructure or sale of players. Selling dead wood for small fees isn’t enough.

At the end of the day, it is a business and if that business had an arena that is world class then there is no harm in it. Things change, life changes and you have to accept the change. Right now people are scared but the new arena would increase the fans to over 10,000 fans.

No doubt Marinakis passionately defends and wants to improve NFFC. I agree Wolfie I believe he is one owner everyone else knows. I respect our Greek godfather and what he has done and plans to do for Forest. Just take a look at some other EPL club owners just shameful. Brighton model does work but as you rightly caution need to develop players not simply to sell and money going into Academy is the future.COYR!

Perhaps moving is the best idea on the table. Yes the PT stand is some 50+ years old and needs replacement. The BC stand is like climbing Everest, even if the view of the pitch is great. The WB stand is lopsided and doesn't fit in well with the overall look of the ground. The TE is tight on leg room if watching from that stand. Buy the land at £10M and sell it off to developers as in WB it will be worth a small fortune. Is the old cattle market still an option for a new development as it is still in the vicinity and closer to the city and railway station?

£35m for a player that, after a season of ample opportunities, is not capable of developing to meet the pace of the PL…. and is very unlikely to do so going forward … is not a successful transaction. Wolf is absolutely correct… multiple redundant player sales can and should meet next seasons £50m PSR deficit….including Sangare… who we should get £20m for as a PSR recovery starter. (ok it’s a £15m loss … but there is no point in keeping him). As a priority it is Imperative that we keep the players that are performing well for us….. and MGW and Murillo are obviously priority one at the top of that list!

I disagree with you on something,that he plans to sell the best players etc.There are some things that you have to say in an interview and some things that you actually mean them.NFC just got 4 points deduction for breaking PSR rules? What you expect him to say ? I am gonna keep buying players and PSR can f.. off? He trys to justify his actions and show that breaking PSR was just a technical mistake that will be corrected in the future.Instead of hearing his words,just see his actions,from knowing him all these years is he a buyer or a seller when it comes to players. Off course for some very good price he will have to sell a player, because also the players want that.But is wrong to think that all NFC players will be up for grabs

If we do leave the WFCG then what's stopping the Greekfather turning the CG into the new massive training ground we're looking for. I know that the A52 site fell through. The CG would an amazing training ground keep the museum let our youth teams play there and our Ladies side aswel or if we do move do what the likes of Cxxy have done with their ground we could fill a 50k stadium and then some but I would build a 4 sided ground like the WFCG then those with season cards transfer to the same stands seats etc so that none of the atmosphere leaves the new ground then fill the corners in with new season card holders we still have a Trent End BC stand PT stand and the bridgeford stand which would obviously be a two tiered stand just make the Brian Clough stand 3 tiered and build training ground and woman's team a little ground that can hold up to 3k and the youth set up can have their own little ground aswel but IMHO the new ground has to be somewhere near the Trent and I'd also call it.... THE NEW CITY GROUND just like Millwall did the the New Den. Just a thought but that's what I'd do anyway and with the money the Greekfather has

@@BaldricksTurnip1 Toton is in Nottingham, it has an Ng postcode, the last stop of the tram network is toton lane, it's just other side of Beeston/Chilwell/Attenborough type of area.
