Pitta loved music from a young age and wanted to major in music. But his parents were against music. Because that path was not a stable path. He was smart and good at studying, so his parents wanted him to study. He was a very sincere and good son to his parents, and eventually entered the Department of Chemical Engineering according to his parents' wishes. But he couldn't give up music, so he played in a band in college. To ease his parents' worries, he studied hard and received a scholarship. Even when he got a job, he sang in a band. While working his job, he continued his music. When he turned 30, he thought it was his last chance and attempted to audition for The Phantom Singer. He expected to be left out because even then he wasn't sure that he was a special singer. But he caused a sensation right from his first qualifier. His preliminaries video has the highest number of views of all seasons of Phantom Singer. He created his own opportunity and ultimately won with his outstanding talent. At the beginning of his debut, he seemed unsure about Forestella's music, but when he felt a sense of crisis about the team's future, he did a lot of research. He first looked at the Korean music market and analyzed what direction Forestella should take in order to survive. He also said he studied how team members' voices should be structured to produce the desired expression. Because he was a researcher, he used scientific data. He worked together with his team members to lead the music and finally opened the future of Porestella music. He has now become Forestella's official vocal director and producer, and has also solidified his presence in music by serving as the frontman for a rock band. I am proud and admire him. He honed his talent with great sincerity and hard work and it finally started to show. Although he started late, he is blazing his own trail. Really nice pitta and forestella!❤

Que emocionante ver el inicio de Forestella y saber que no fue tan fácil su camino hacia la meta, todos tienen un talento tan extraordinario y juntos son una bendición para nuestros sentidos, Mingyu la mente maestra reconoció el talento de WooRim ademas que ya lo había conocido en la universidad y lo ayudo y le enseñó a controlar su gran voz , sin duda Mingyu es el alma de Forestella ❤❤❤ esperando la segunda parte 🥰🥰🥰

One interesting fact is that Kim Joo-taek was already a famous opera singer at the time, and for a short time, he was KO Woorim's private vocal music teacher for his entrance into Seoul National University.(among the 12 people who made it to the finals of Phantom Singer 2, Ko Woo-rim was the youngest and the only college student)

@@heayoungjun8930 아 지금보니 결승팀중에 한태인님이 계셨네요^^ 그런데 제가 첫댓 보시다시피 말한건 결승팀 12인 중에서만 말한거고 다른 분들 비교해서 이분들만 활약했다고 말한것도 아닌데 오해하신거 같아요 그리고 주택님과 경쟁했던 무대 영상 보시길래 재미로 두분 에피소드 얘기하면서 대학얘기가 나온거뿐이구요

The singers enter the competition as solo acts. If they get through, the next round requires them to form a duo. That's where we saw Cho partnering Ko. The third round involves forming a trio, and that's where Bae joined Cho and Ko. The final phase has 12 singers, and the judges split them into 3 quartets. That's where Kang finally joins the others and Forestella was formed.

Phantom singer2 started with 32 contestants. In the preliminary producers’ audition 27 singers were selected, Doohoon and Woorim weren’t selected. (failed) To meet 32, judges selected extra 5 passers ( at 4:18 on this video) and DH and WR were chosen. After each round 4 of contestants who had lost were eliminated.( judges decided 4 to be eliminated ) In 1:1 battle MG, HH(pitta) and DH won, WR lost but survived. ( so WR had failed twice) In the trio round, high scored 3 teams could keep their teams without being disbanded and drafted by other teams. Team Trephyton(MG, DH, WR) took the third place and picked Seme to form a quartet.

Additional clarification is needed. If a match is lost, the losing team becomes a candidate for elimination. From among the eliminated candidates, successful candidates will be selected again. Those who win the competition and those who pass advance to the next mission level. Strictly speaking, not all people who were candidates for elimination were eliminated, so it is difficult to say that they are all eliminated. Only those who did not advance to the next mission can be said to have been eliminated. So, Woorim and Doohun were not eliminated, but remained candidates for elimination, and since they advanced to the next mission, we can say that they were finally accepted.

They were individual competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to recruit for duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. The guy 2nd from the right (Mingyu) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others. Left to right Woorim - Classically trained Basso Profundo, he and Mingyu were in University together. Mingyu was a senior when Woorim started. Hyungho - Rock Countertenor (zero training until he joined the group), was a chemical engineer. His family did not back him to have a singing career and he had decided that Phantom Singer was his last chance. If he didn't make it there he was gpoing to let the singing career go. Mingyu - Leader and Classically trained Leggiero Tenor (he and Woorim went to the same school) Doohoon - Musical Theater Actor, Baritenor. They are lightning in a bottle.

I've recommended this video for a long time, and I'm glad that my wish came true with Nami's SUPERCHAT.😊 (Thanx Nami) I've watched every episode of Phantom Singer 2. You guys will feel even better after knowing Forestella's past stories. I'll be waiting for the second video of Forestory. see ya ^^

In these rounds, when they lose they become "candidates" for elimination. Then the judges choose a certain amount of contestants from the candidates to go home. Fortunately, Woorim and Doohoon weren't chosen to go home in these rounds.

정확히는 28이나 29이죠 생일이 지났는지에 따르니까요 그리고 형호는 3월생이니까 저때는 외국나이 29세였겠네요 뭐 정확한 나이가 크게 중요한건 아니지만 형호가 동안이긴 하죠😁

I recently saw an interview with Woorim talking about his duet with Mingyu. Funny and horrifying at the same time. Apparently there was a fly in the studio and it landed on Mingyu’s neck. He felt it but thought his vein was popping. Woorim could see it and had to suppress his laughter while singing. He was already tense and then had to deal with that. He said they laughed hysterically for 30 minutes after leaving the stage. I’ve seen this whole performance. At the end you can see the fly around Mingyu’s hands. Their voices were amazing as always but you can feel the tension. ❤❤❤❤

Hyungho (PITTA) was pressured by family to get his Chemical Engineering degree. He is the only one of them without formal training. Both Mingyu and Woorim have Master’s degrees in vocal music from Seoul National University (Woorim was still in school when the show aired and finished his studies later). Doohoon studied acting at the Korean national University of the arts. The contestants that lose their round are eligible for elimination. The judges decide who is eliminated. The winning contestants then choose their next partners from the remaining ‘losers’. The first 1v1 battles always break my heart, because these guys work so hard together and form friendships, but one of them has to lose. While I love Forestory, watching the whole show of 32 very talented contestants whittled down to 12 is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. The eliminations always hit hard. Both Mingyu and Hyungho were about to give up on music. At the time this was filmed, Doohoon was 32, Hyungho was 30, Mingyu was 28, and Woorim was the youngest contestant at 23.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Mingyu didn't want to give up on music, he felt less assured on his pathway and was planning to continue his master degree abroad if he didn't auditioned for Phantom Singer.

@@mongji1022 he completed his Masters in 2015 (then started his military service). Thank you for making me check my sources on the rest (please keep in mind that I am translating this and I am not a pro translator, there may be nuances lost). In an interview he did in 2020, he talked about his disappointment at the Geneva International Music Festival (the one where he was told he would never get a lead role because his voice was too light). He said he felt like any hope he had was completely shattered. He was thinking about what paths he could realistically take and PS inspired him. "For the _last time_, let me live my dream there!" Speculation - I don't think he would have given up on music completely, he was already counseling younger students as a TA at Seoul National University and I think he probably would have continued to teach. (Both Woorim and Hyungho learned much from his 'scoldings' lol) ❤️ Let me know if you find conflicting articles/interviews. It would be interesting to compare and is appreciated.

@@CrzyJen Did you watch their appearance in Yoo Quiz on the Block? I think he mentioned that he wanted to further his study abroad there if it wasn't for Phantom singer.
