This took me four hours to make -- two last night and two tonight --, an hour and a half to render and sixteen minutes to upload.. I am incredibly proud of this video. I know I have said that about a lot.. But I believe I captured every beautiful moment that these two had in the best way I could've..
The text at the bottom of each scene, is supposed to make up a letter. Maya's letter to Lucas. Yes, this is a S1-S3 of Lucaya showing their relationship develop.. But, I wanted to make it something more than that. Maya told Lucas she liked him, but never explained why.. It wasn't because she became Riley, it was because she always had.. Somewhere, deep down inside of her. Since the day they met on that subway, to the day they smiled at each other in the last moments we'd ever see of these two together.
I hope you all love this video and if there are any key moments I left out, please tell me!

It hurts knowing that people still ship Riley and Lucas more than maya and Lucas. There is too much chemistry and they understand in-depth about each other. The whole “maya turned into Riley” thing really made me sad bc it would have been good for character development.

Honestly, Lucas and Maya were endgame since they first met, even Riley knew that. Riley has so many things in her life, loving family, amazing best friend, a boy who loves her, but she had to go for the only thing Maya ever loved..Lucas and Maya are so tragically beautiful..If Lucas really liked Riley, he wouldn’t have feelings for Maya..and remember when he said that he was terrified because he had a chance with Maya..and the looks ? How can you not know that they’re endgame ? Honestly, everyone knew..everyone saw it coming..Lucas and Maya didn’t have to change each other for each other, they were themselves with each other and they felt comfortable and felt accepted..if that’s not love, then I don’t know what it...I guess, it’s kind of okay that they didn’t end up together..maybe they were supposed to be a tragedy that everyone loved and remembered.. Hi My name is Alexis Parvin I strongly but respectfully disagree like lets face it what riley and lucas had in the beginning might have been a lie but around the middle you could see the difference in the way he looked at riley and the way he looked at maya when he looked at riley it was not forced and too even anything out but he had to make up some back handed compliment for maya and yeah when riley got jealous he had smelled her hair and when he found out that riley still loved him who did he look at sitting on the bench on the roof :riley" he did not even bother to look at maya or to see how she was doing and maya clearly said in the ski lodge she does not want a nice guy whoa like she has been and always will be hung up on josh and josh finally realizes that he likes maya and says they might at some point have future and they are both playing the long game . So to say that everything about riley and lucas relationship was lie was quite an overreach like i said I the beginning a little bit cause like yeah technically he met maya first so like he would think about her the second he sees her but like the way he was with riley was different and in the beginning was not really looking for a relationship he was just trying to settle into a new thing so even in the beginning of the show if he would have started a relationship with maya it would have been a lie in the beginning there too cause he still was not comfortable e in a completely different place.

I always feel sad for Maya because she gave the happiness of loving someone for her best friend who didn't care about her feelings at all. I've always hated Rily because you tell it in Lucas's eye's that he likes Maya. Riley and Lucas's relationship was one of those " first crushes, not gonna last " relationship. I honestly cried inside in the episode when Lucas got Rily a horse and called her a princess. Maya was just standing there smiling while her best friends was with her crush... imagine how different the show would be if it were told from maya’s perspective. it’d be too real for disney. i wish we had gotten more from maya. i want to see her growing up, her reaction to her dad leaving, how she ate well (“sir, that can’t happen to riley, she’s my food source”), what she went through, her perspective, why she is who she is. i want to know what happened with those two girls in the episode where she did graffiti on the building, and how bad she was with them.

you are enough. you will always be enough. i totally relate to this though, i’ve always seen myself as maya, she’s so much more down to earth and she’d do anything for her friends. it was so nice to have a character like that put onto tv. her insecurities made her much more likeable and relatable too, showing that no matter who you are or how untouchable she might act, she has pain. she has burdens and insecurities. i think that it showed us she was real. she came from a broken home and had a hard life, a lot of people aren’t as privileged as riley and it’s so important to portray that.

Apparently the writers said that they made a mistake on the last few episodes (at the ski lodge) and said they were going to have Maya and Lucas together but they found out it was being cancelled and they couldn’t make their relationship happen - and at the last episode. We basically NEEDED another series 😭

I loved them together so so much , the amount of hurt that maya went through with riley , lucas and josh plus her home life . She honestly deserved the happy ending more than anyone . The only genuine one that helped her was farkle . This whole show was a roller coaster

even though its been five years this is the one couple i'll never forget. i'll always hate disney for how this ended. yes, riley and lucas were like the same person and were alike, but thats exactly it. they were too alike but lucas made maya better, maya acted a different way with lucas and there was always was more connected between them.

Honestly riley and maya's friendship is amazing... And the fact that maya let go of lucas for riley shows how much she cares, she was willing to let herself suffer all for her friend.. I believe lucaya should have been a thing.. If girl meets world or another series like this comes back dont make the same mistake twice..

I just realized how deep and down to earth this show is because the characters are learning about themselves and there struggles like the real world ,and it relates to so much of the similarities in real life.That’s why a lot of people liked it .Girl meets world was such a good show with a lot of impact and potential but there was so much they could have done ,but we never got an episode that just went bam ,overall it was a good show I think they should have done a spin of or something because there are not a lot of shows on Disney or a anything to much like Girl meets world but they should make another Disney show similar to the plot of the make characters trying to find themselves and live in the real world were your not just given everything you ask for because I think that’s what the show was about.Kids just trying to figure out how to live life and fix or live with their problems with the help of there teacher and family.

wow im in tears right now. i can relate to maya. maya is such an amazing person. she gave up the love of her life for her own best friend. it's no question that maya and lucas were meant to be together since day one. ever since they met, they cared so SO deeply for each other. they were best friends but inside, they were more. its heartbreaking that the screenwriters didn't end the show with maya and lucas being together. i have to be honest, i never liked riley. riley didn't even notice how lucky she was to have maya as her best friend. she did so much for riley and riley never even cared. riley was not happy when maya and lucas liked each other. i get that riley saw him first, but the heart wants what the heart wants. lucaya for ever. this is so heartbreaking. and i personally know what its like to sacrifice so much for your friends and them not noticing or caring. everyone deserves happiness, and no one should take that away from you. sorry i write a lot when i get emotional... to the creator of this video, this video is amazing, you're extremely talented. yes, im here in 2020 lol

I've always kinda believed that Girl Meets World was about Maya life through her best friends perspective. I mean, Maya is the the one with daddy issues, Shawn marries her mom, they focus on her struggles a lot. For Riley, they more focus on how innocent and bubbly she was compared to Maya.

My point!! I TOTALLY FUCKING AGREE. Maya was like "if you care bout me....go find riley and tell her you love her..." and he does care bout maya. It makes sense. I shipped zay and maya. Josh and maya. But MAINLY LUCAS AND MAYA. i shipped farkle and smackle cause they spoke each other's language (plus he loves riley and maya equally so he wouldnt have chose) so insteaf of farkle and riley i shipped CHARLIE AND RILEY. Maya and lucus=love language. Farkle and smackle=love language. Riley and Charlie=love language. Zay was a great guy! Im sure he could of found someone like the girl from texas! And josh....couldve finally let go of the "someday" with maya(although bittersweet asf) and finally got with someone older. But hey that's just my opinion

Jonas Pothen A person who you love. It can be friend, lover, etc. You just promise that you are gonna love her/him forever. You do. But sometimes people cannot struggle against difficulties or they have to go for some reason. So you say "goodbye" but your heart doesn't. Forever is forever. You are gonna love her/him forever. But sometimes you need to say goodbye.

That show was my childhood, when I was in fourth grade I even sung the theme song for the talent show with one of my best friends, I’ve always mostly understood the show but know that I’m older I understand it so much more, I really wish there were more seasons

Cute nicknames, friendly flirty teasing, Maya jumping on Lucas's back (more than once), Lucas picking Maya up, and Luckas standing up for Maya.... He let's her do all this ,and they do get along and are nice to each other when their not messing or teasing/flirting with each other. This... this is relationship goals right here. Their both different from each other, but the differences between them complement each other. Their just a cute couple in general, sorry to Riley she's a nice gal and what not but it's not the same with her and Lucas...

I hate that all of Maya's development from "troublemaker" to "wanting something better for herself" ended up being her turning into Riley to see if Lucas was good enough and back pedaling on everything. Like... she just went through development and then they made it into a Riley problem and made her think she didn't want Lucas when you could tell she really did. She was allowed to like him and idk why the show had to mess up her character arc to justify Riley ended up with Lucas instead.

It should’ve been Maya and Lucas. Nothing more to it. When you look at the differences between when Maya is with Lucas compared to when Riley is with Lucas, you can see that Maya and Lucas are just perfect put together, watching them together always feels like two halves put together. A perfect patch.

Now I understand why so many people say riley and lucas relationship is a bit forced, I mean the writers used farkle as a plot to put riley and lucas back together in New Years and they used "Maya becomes Riley" to make them endgame. Even after Lucas chose riley, they still didn't act like how a couple should act, even smarkle acted more like a couple than rucas and the writer continued to cut Riley and Lucas cute scenes. And the fact that rowan is more comfortable with corey makes rucas have less physical contact than other couples
