Valerie seems like a wonderful person, I just wish they would offer more of these family roots to the rest of us. If our world was better it would be given to each family member as a government database, free of charge.

I love this!! We've always baked in my family too, thanks to my abuela and it always seemed to just come naturally. Turns out my great-grandfather (her father) had a bakery in Mexico where they were from!

Ugh... I've been waiting all my adult life. 45 years! Kept choosing and attracting the wrong, selfish, two-faced men - who don't know how to love like this. I know I'm amazing. I love myself. Lets see if this works! Thank you! ❤🌈🌹

Two ways to start at minimal cost: most public libraries have an account with the ancestry website that their patrons can access at no charge on the library computers. Gather all the info you can from the eldest family members that remember anything and check it out. Also, if you have an LDS church near you, they frequently have free (or minimal suggested donation) access to their genealogy database and many will offer classes or guided searches. The money comes in when you want to travel or have official documents (like birth, marriage, and death certificates) printed out. Get an overview and decide how deep you want to get involved.

I've helped many people find their ancestor (especially Hispanic ancestors). Just ask a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You do not need to be a member, and they will help you find the nearest Family History Center.

Depends on how well your family kept records. You can visit any local courthouse or church your ancestors may have been part of. Every state maintains a state archives complete with adoption birth and death records. Local libraries contain or at least used to contain microfilm/microfiche of past newspapers that may contain events in family history.

everyone has many, many branches to their family tree, those shows don't exhaustively examine every branch. They do have both budget and time contraints,, after all.

They already did Valerie Bertinelli on who do you think you are a few years ago come to find out that her mother side had English roots and she was trace back to Edward the Hammer, so why are we doing her again? Oh Dr. Gates will never do the little man or the common man . Watch the show who do you think you are that one will give you steps that you need to take to start your genealogical journey. I would suggest anybody who’s trying to start start with the 1950 census look for people who you do know, and then work your way back through the census you can get help at your local library And also at your state level archives.
