FORGING A HARDY BENDING FORK: Starting with 3/4" x 3" x 4" 1018 mild steel using the MZ75 Power Hammer with a 1.5hp compressor with a 20 gallon tank.

I am thoroughly impressed with the hammer. The clamping feature is impressive. For just a second, it seemed like you were showing off, (:-)) but in reality, I know that you were just using the hammer as it is designed. Very cool video.

Iron Shepherd Forge indeed he used it quite well! I do like the fact that it really doesn't require a huge air compressor to operate it. Well done!

I have a Big Blue hammer, had problems with the control valve and the Becket. Doesn't like cold days. Also have a little giant, they lack precise control you get with the air hammer. This hammer looks well designed and the high ram along with the clamping feature will be a big plus. Ordered one a few months back, expecting arrival in a few weeks. Little giant 25 is for sale.

5:28 how do you keep the pins captive, keeping the dies together at all times? Seems like a much better design for clapper dies, gets rid of the chance of pinching your hands compared to the ones where the handle is what keeps them together.

the pins are not captive, it will come apart but with a little practice you learn how much to lift it to open it and applying down pressure to keep it closed.......

Wait wait wait. You mean I can run that on the air compressor I have already!? You mean I DON'T have spend an extra 1500 bucks on a bigger one??? Ok that's cool! I wish I had a place for a power hammer. I would start saving for one today! Geez that control.

So how would that splitting technique work on say a 2 x 2 x 3 block of 1084/15N20 damascus for feather pattern? ;-)
