The normal videos still look better, even when choosing the highest quality setting (8k). I'm not sure if the quality is limited by the 360° recording system itself or by KZfaq. Don't get me wrong, I dont want to complain about the quality, just want to explain what's going on :) I personally find the 360° videos pretty interesting :)

If you don't have an 8k monitor you're not going to see the quality.

Isn't 8k is the full video resolution? Since it's a 360 degrees recording you're not seeing everything at once. As such, a higher resolution than your monitor supports does make a noticeable difference.

***** Yes you do. Try 1080p setting on a 1080p monitor, then try a higher setting.

Stefan die Waldfee - Retro & Indie LPs If you have a 4k monitor, and you go higher than 4k, you won't see a difference. The video will just go slower and slower.

***** Yes you do. Try it. Use the respective quality setting for your monitor resolution, then use a higher one.

This was really cool, but I still prefer the theatrical version, you guys have some of best framed shots I've ever seen and you lose that with 360. I still enjoyed it though. It was neat to be able to see the area you're working in.

idk what it is, but every single 360 video that i try to watch, it shows up the full panorama, and an identical vid stacked on top, so i'm seeing every angle twice at once

well, it was interesting to see what things really look like in the forge: but the traditional format is more fun to watch because of all the cool angles. I don't know if you guys watch your episodes when they're edited, but they really make it look like a ballet. I do really like the 360 for the Q&A, and the shop tours (once I figured out how to move the camera and zoom lol!) Are you going to do a tour of Lauren's work area? I'd love to see the jewelry and casting tools!

It would be amazing if you guys did a simple build but showed the entire process with very few cuts and edits just the raw mostly unedited video (obviously time cuts because we couldn't watch an 80 hour build but have all the process explained in detail), so us as the fans could appreciate even more how much time and effort you guys put into a build.

3:49 just curious, how does applying water to your hammer help to avoid/remove the scales on the metal? as far as i've understood it, the scales comes when the metal is heated up to demagnetization

Did you knock the horns off that anvil? I've seen one's being used for bladesmithing with a similar setup, especially in the $50 Knife Shop book by Wayne Goddard. I've done a little googling and didn't see any set up that way for sale.

Atrinoch It could be to try to off set his original accent. I do the same. I have a very southern accent, so people think I'm dumb, sometimes I try to speak "normally", it doesn't really work. I don't know for sure, but from my point of view that's what I think it is.

CChissel correct, he's originally from Russia. Normally his accent is barely noticeable: but he likes to exaggerate it for comedic effect. The key is to hear your own accent, which is difficult because nobody accurately hears their own voice as they speak. Listening to recordings of yourself is usually the best way to get so that you can modify your accent as you want. Don't let anyone disrespect you because of your accent though! Languages are living things, just as genetic diversity is important for a species so dialectical diversity is important for a language. You tell those parochial people to stop stifling English, and being ethnocentric! (and if you use the word "ethnocentric" that ought to clear up any misconceptions about your education level lol).

Robert Sims it worked in my Samsung Galaxy Tab S at 1440s, so if you have something like a S6 it will work just fine.

As weird as it would be I'd like to sew someone attempt a 360 movie (or theater). All new tech and all new problems. Such as should they walk around said theater or sit in a giant pivotal chair. They should also make zooming in possible.
