Been watching other book tubers and a lot of them have been saying that Brian deserves to be recognized alongside of Joe Abercrombie and George Martin. I agree with them.

At 46 years old, I just finished this series a few months ago as my very first fantasy series in all my years and I must say, I was not disappointed. Weis and Hickman have born another fantasy reader.

I remember reading this as a young teen and remarking to my father how I could picture it as a movie just from the way it was written. I loved the ideas in this storyline. It was my opening experience to Weis & Hickman's writing. Great walk down memory lane!! Thank you, Brian! 👍

Been collecting all the books as well. I’m trying to decide if I should move on to this, deathgate or rose of the prophet next after dragons of spring.

Rose of the prophet is good you should read it First. If you want something different Symphony of Ages is a good choice it's by Elizabeth hydon.. the assassin is very unique, "brother to all men Akin to none"

Surprisingly, I've never read a Weis & Hickman book. I must change that in the near future. Thanks again, Brian.

I read the three books back in the early’90s. There’s a fourth book now which came out later, Legacy of the Darksword. Have you read that one? Funny you mention Elric. I remember when I read these , someone recommended Elric to me at the time.

Loved Hickman and Weis back in the day. Their new Dragonlance series seems a step backwards though.

The retro art of Larry Elmore and Clyde Caldwell and of the time of the 80s and the 90s are better! As a forigner, whose only experince I had as a kid from Arabia was Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy, trust me the old art has a charm and magic in it. I tried reading one of those "modern" Forgotten Realms books even the writing wasn't digestible, last year I began my journey, reading the Dragonlance both trilogies and now getting my way through the Dark Elf trilogy and hopefully in near time I'll have the time for Raymond E. Feist.

I remember going to game convention in the late 80's, it might have been Gen Con '88. I was just wandering around and came across a table with Weis and Hickman signing and handing out copies of this book. I took a copy and thanked them. Had it for years but never read it, not sure where it went, lost in a move I guess. I didn't like the Dragonlance modules put out by TSR. They were the biggest AD&D event ever at the time. However I thought, and still believe, they were lamely written. Some good ideas but largely wasted space and poorly written.
