FIX!! Here is a step by step guide on how to factory reset your iPad. This works on all iPads. iPad original, iPad mini, iPad air. This will clear the disabled messageOnce reset you can setup your iPad again. **If you were signed in with your Apple ID you will need the password to continue. iPad cannot use Windows (I must assume upper-case, since you type entirely without it). iTunes has no firewall. A firewall is for a whole device, not for one app.

You may have to go through this process twice. The first time I received a pop up telling me that the restore couldn't continue without the passcode of the original owner. Restarted the process again and the same pop up didn't appear.

How about when the IPad is an old model, from about 2012. Most likely a reset and software update would brick the device since the processor and components are not up to date, it happened to me once with an iPod. Anyone here has any idea or experience with such issues,..hope so, it would be greatly appreciated.

You do have iTunes it just called music now separate apps but when you plug up the iPad it’ll open iTunes looking menu

You just need to repeat the steps: switch off the iPad, press Home, plug the cable in, wait for recovery mode, iTunes will continue download after you select "Restore" etc.

Restore the device using recovery mode and reset the password If you've never connected your iOS device to your computer, then you may need to place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device. Unless you have an iCloud backup, you will lose all of your data using this method. If you use iCloud for backup, you can select a backup during the setup process after the restore. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device. Follow the prompts in Setup Assistant and proceed to "Set up your device." If you used iCloud for backup, tap Restore from a Backup, then sign in to iCloud. Proceed to "Choose backup," then choose from a list of available backups in iCloud.
