`Hi, i just want to make two comments on the air below installation. You should install the fixing bolts from the top and not from the bottom. if something gets loose, you lose the nut, but at least the bolt can still remain there. The other thing I have observed, is that the kit does not come with self locking nuts. being a suspension component, exposed to vibrations,i would have used self locking nuts. nice following the project.

If I was you I would drill a metal plate for rear and run that bolt thru plate I would even go a step more and weld it with just both thru it could be a problem other then that wire wheel the metal before and treat rust looking forward to next install

I think before air bags, maybe take the control arms off and have em blasted and cleaned? New ball joints? Seems like a huge risk of all those old parts breaking... check out a company called classic performance products, they have tons of the little stuff needed for that truck including all the arms and bushings you’ll need eventually

If I remember correctly, you could save a little money and swap out your '63's front drum brakes with '73 chevy van spindles and disc brakes.

So you don’t NEED drop spindles to bag the front? I was under the assumption you did.

i would got the full suspension and forget the air and get disc brakes with a 2 inch drop spindles my 68 i just put the 2 inch drop spindles with disc brakes with a big block witch gives me 5 inch total drop on the front with a heavy torsion bar witch stopped the body roll stock suspension is the best for long life air ride is cool but expensive right now i only have 2200 in my pu with a stroked 454 with tunnel ram no rust just a few dings full chrome factory paint needs paint bad i pulled a serpentine belt setup off a 94 pu made it look factory under the hood came out better then i thought it woulds with the factory valve covers off the 94 just polished them and paint in the groves after market distributor with msd 7 just put only one carb on the tunnel ram to save headaches

Not judging you or how you're doing this truck but personally I would have took off the cab and bed and sanded the frame down and paint it with Por15 at least.

Putting airbags on your c10 is not ruin your truck its a life style that is not for everyone especially when you go custom framed /low to you scrape the floors

next up .... replace those rusted out brake lines and 50Yr old + brake hoses .

Don't let the bashers get to you. I have been fixing cars for over 50 years and no offense but it is obvious you have limited mechanical skills. Working on this truck is a great way to get experience while working on one of the most basic vehicles built. Something I learned years ago is to clean all the grease tar dirt and grime before starting, it makes working easier safer and more enjoyable. If you plan to work on older stuff get a set or torches and learn how to safely use them. BTW unbolting the pivot point of a lower control arm with the spring still in is a good way to get hurt, in the future unbolt the ball joints end first and lower the control arm by the time the spring can come out there is a lot less pressure on it. Good luck I love those trucks.
