We had a lot of fun rescuing this ole mustang from under this house! She’s surprisingly sharp after being covered and tucked away since 2001! In today’s video we pull it out and attempt to get it going. I hope you all enjoy! Thank you all as always for the continued Love and Support!

I want to throw a comment in here and clear a few things up. With this being my passion and loving the job I have, my reputation means everything to me. I’m as open and honest as I possibly can be with everyone. I relay what I’m told, just as I’m told. The car originally had many blankets, the present cover and then a large painters mat wrapped around it. Before filming the PO threw out the covers, cleaned out around the car and appears to have wiped it down. You’ll notice how nasty the car is under the bumpers and on the front valence. If you look closely you can also see wipe marks on the windows and body panels. It can be deceiving for sure, even for me. Until we pull the car out on its 30+ year old tires and not a single wheel rolls free. In fact pulling it on the trailer, they were so locked down that it bogged out my 9500 winch and ripped the treads clean off some of the tires. Not to mention the fact the engine bay looks like heck and the engine was stuck. This one looks a bit too good to be true but there’s a specific reason/reasons. We’ve rescued hundreds of cars. As I lay under the little mustang cleaning up crusty parts, I feel confident with the timeline I was told. I hope this comment helps some to understand where I’m coming from. Thank you for those that have tagged along and enjoy what we have to share. I hope you all are having a great week.

The value isn't there to do a full restore on a 6 cylinder coupe. The only way that makes sense is if you have a emotional attachment to the car or just plan to keep it a long time and don't care about losing money. For someone that's just flipping cars, a full restore cost more then the cars is worth.

@@simoneuler7073 That car is in good enough shape to just clean it up, do the mechanicals repairs needed to make it safe and just drive and enjoy it. There's not really any need to try and make it show room new condition. For someone to do that, it would have to be a labor of love. And he doesn't even like Mustangs.

Yes it is an awesome car! Nice interior too with the bucket seats, center console and sport guages, it just needs the factory wood type sport steering wheel, with the 3 chrome spokes and the round holes in them, and you got one of my favorite 60's interiors.✌

Great job on getting this gem running. Grandpa had a 65 that was his "work truck" for selling/delivering eggs. I used to ride with him on his delivery route. He was in and out of the trunk so much that he left the trunk key in the lock. Wore the chrome and all the raised mustang emblems off the key. When the family parted with the car, no one could remove the trunk key. My dad currently has a 66 convertible w/289, blue w/white top.

Great find!! Just a heads up...... regarding trouble shifting into 1st/reverse. The 200 6cyl for 1964-1966 came with a 2.71 3 speed manual transmission with an unsynchronized 1st gear/reverse gear. This means the car has to be completely stopped to shift into 1st/reverse. Sometimes you have to let the clutch out a little for it to "catch" in 1st/reverse for it to go into gear. A lot of people burned these transmissions up from "grinding" the gears. This may be why you're having issues.

Nice find! I've owned a 68 with a 289 for 24 years now, mines almost stock as I have all the paperwork from when it was new too. I'd keep that car close to stock too, way too original, plus the 6 cyl cars get alot of attention at shows by me, very few are around or have been V8 swapped. For the condensor issues, just swap in a Pertronix like I did, no more points to deal with. Can always go back stock if wanted. Those that want some performance from the 6 cyl cars Clifford offers stuff, even a dual exhaust for them which gives those 6 cars a unique sound.

I could be mistaken, but I believe on the Mustang, automatic transmission was an option. The general assembly line was all manual.

What a great find! Such a beauty! You should really invest in one of those ultrasonic cleaners. They are cheap and cleaning old carbs is very satisfying :)

Be sure to add some zinc additives to the oil because today's oil does not have enough zinc to work properly with a flat tappet cam. They need a lot more zinc to prevent wear.

I am amazed what good condition this car remains after sitting on a dirt floor 21 years. It actually still has a floor pan!?! Great video. Terrific editing. Excellent time lapses. Keep it up 👍 mike.

John. This car had not been sitting for 21 years. I rescue cars myself. A car kept near water like that for a year would have rotors seized, rust and filled with mold and mice. Chewed to bits .

@@turdrocket Got it! I mistook stored for sitting. And anything parked on a dirt floor, other than Arizona would definitely be decomposing rust!! But then why was car so mucked up. It must have been sitting for some time?

Love your videos! I've got to be one of those people and comment. After messing with all kinds of cars (a lot of Fords) for 50+ years, I have NEVER had one of the Ford style starter relays bad. It seems every utube (not just yours) I watch they all are bad (also never I've never had a bad ignition coil unless damaged, leaking or crushed). Cleaning out my Dad's old shop I have found 5 or 10 of these relays taken off scraped cars and none of them have tested bad. They all will pull 200 + amps. Keep the videos coming.
