he's from my state. golden period of odisha cricket was at that time. some very good players were at that time like shivsundar, pravanjan, debadish mohanty, rashmi parida, sanjay raul.

The problem was his inability to convert his starts, he did have a decent enough series in South Africa but in between there was inability to convert his starts and he then had a poor series against West indies, shewag then came in and selectors started to look beyond das at this point.

In this period Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Virendra Sehwag are leading in Indian batting lineup ; for that reason this kind of talented player like Shiv Sundar Das, Rabin Uthappa's career did not go long..... that's called "born in a wrong era"..

Not forgotten but lack of consistancy faded him away. Such players always remain as dissapointments. The list is too long.... Pravin Amre , Vinod Kambli....

he was a not a constant player as per resource that's why he did not get much chance. Ganguly could have given more chances to him for a betterment of his career.
