I'd understand it if they introduce new items that we could use to alleviate the nerfs which I am hoping they do because some of the nerfs are just absurd.

From what we know supposedly the reload speed is longer than the mod use speed for Corrupted Savior. So to make best use of the gun doing a ranged/mod hybrid is gonna be the most optimal thing to do. So I'm imagining something like Hunter/Archon mix for this which would be a fun and interesting combo For Knights Guard Tragic is thinking about enabling it as a feature to make it work with MORE melee stuff, but he had to bugfix it first before enabling such features for the mod. So expect a future buff to them that makes them work with more melee centric stuff The fact that scrap shot applies bleed now is gonna be pretty nice for bleed builds. The fact Whispering Marble got it's damage nerf is pretty huge. Still good but not as good as it was before, especially since Dried Clay Ring also got hit, so it's not a significant amount of all damage anymore with those 2 combined. But the fact it still gives you basically unconditional 4 stacks will still make it an appealing choice for lots of people For Braided Thorns and Attonement Fold, it's actually fine for what they did here. Gotta remember just how many items Attonement Fold activates, Nightweavers Grudge, Hardcore Metal Band, Embrace of Sha'Hala, Alchemy Stone etc. So the fact that it got a 5% crit chance nerf is fine. Compared to Braided Thorns which doesn't activate any other item, and considering they're basically removing all "on kill" effects from the game to make items more viable, I think 10% unconditional crit chance is fine Paper Heart got a GIGA CHANGE that you glossed over. It's a completely different item now basically, and same for Lifeless Heart granting no healing anymore either. So those are pretty significant changes that does change how/why they're used

I guess Birthright of the Lost is more for cooperative play as I assume other players get to enjoy the benefit of the 15% Expose debuff on the enemy?

I just stopped giving af about the balance of this game. I'll just go full skill based gameplay and go through whatever, but actually depending on gear when Tragic balances this game the same way Bungie does(metrics) is just asking for a headache. For example, why nerf Sparkfire when it was by far the most balanced weapon in the game? Because they saw the numbers and went "hur dur lots of players using this, IT MUST BE OP" and not understanding that everyone was using it because it was the only open mod slot gun with elemental damage. Why nerf the ONE mod build class when mod gen was the whole point of Archon? "We want more build diversity", ok... then why nerf elemental builds, crit builds, mod spam builds, etc? Anyway. Fanboys will defend, tragic will say whatever on discord and here I am just hoping the endgame mode next DLC is good.

Preach. I will just breeze through the new DLC story and probably will stop there again. The balance tweaking idea from Gunfire is just...weird. Fanboy will fanboy and I guess we just gotta move on to new games. I just kinda regret buying the deluxe edition at launch now and will be careful about buying any from them in the future.

To be honest, I never have metagamed this game; I just play combinations of fun seeming classes and weapons that have mild synergy. The only difference for me between now and a few days ago is that people who metagame got a lot weaker while I got mostly buffs.

I saw the nerf coming to the Dot build I was running, may change the singed ring now for archer and go to fae bow for acid mod. Not great but maybe fun. Fun > Effectifness after all

I dislike the Worlds Edge nerfs and the Ahanae and Singed Ring nerfs are just crazy imo. And while a big fan of Crit. I think the nerfs are okay for that. The nerf to Whispering Marble is just stupid imo. No one even really used it

I use it my bro-s use it. It actually really strong when go with clay ring. It my set to go for any build. Do agree word edge nerf too much though.

@@arachbae4777 then u have to use bleed ring, got haft healing effect and bulwark ring. That necklace 2ring for 25%dmg 5 bulwark(25dr). After the neft marble + clay ring still give 19%dmg 4 bulwark(23dr). And u have 1 extra ring of choice.

Yeah that Worlds Edge nerfs really sucks, I mean its not like its an easy weapon to get, its a strong weapon you expect to get by beating the hardest difficulty in the game.

I just spam Sporebloom with hugs and win and it is such a shame that these changes make me even less inclined to change from that build. Hell I havent even unlocked Archon yet lmao. The nerfs to mindless melee tank were warranted though that felt like cheating before this patch. Now you actually gotta be a little careful. Nerfing Worlds edge damage was a little unnecessary though, dmg wasnt the issue with those builds. Nerfing steadfast was enough i think

interesting to see that gunfire seems to subscribe to the idea that a shifting meta is more interesting than everything being insane. i'll miss mod spam, but im sure other stuff will be as fun.

Thats the biggest problem though, if they didn't introduce new items that could be added to the meta its going to be quite a stale meta again lol.

I think overall, players in my experience of many different game types simply hate being weaker today than they were yesterday. Unless their strength came from a glitch/exploit. Devs always seem to race to the bottom with nerfs. Its always much better to adjust the mkobs/bosses (not as bullet sponges) but adjustments which can combat a lot of builds.

As a Mod Spam enjoyer, this patch definitely hurts. I've been trying to theory craft a skill build anyways but I'm pretty sure if the boss flies it will be dead as fuck anyways so I guess this is gonna be a real unfun patch for me

Something that is kinda wild to me, they didn’t touch the minions damage that they deal, they just touched sacrifice damage, a mechanic that at the current moment is just not worth using…….at all, because of how much you loose upon sacrificing the minions, you have to deal with: Reducing your overall damage because your minions are dead. The burst damage you do get upon sacrificing the minions is just too low, even when you try to buff it as much as you can. Waiting on long cooldowns because you sacrificed your minions for mediocre burst damage. Sacrificing your minions as a mechanic just does not work, there’s just too many downsides, and not enough upsides to engaging with the mechanic, which is why everyone instead tries to keep the minions alive as much as possible, because their 100 times more useful alive and out than they are being sacrificed. Here’s hoping the eventual prime perk rework helps out Summoner and gives it the boost it has needed since the game released. Because currently, the only word I have to describe Summoner is, and I don’t say this lightly: *an overall disappointment.*

IDEA FOR ACTUAL SUMMONER REWORK: I dont understand the negative attitude of some viewer on the patch. Other than some questionable nerf most the buf are great. The only thing i dont like about the patch and new dlc is rework for summoner. And i have an idea for it. I know this is a long text but hope the developer see and give some thought on it. For attack perk 20% all damages, 5% melee, skill, mod, range crt. PRIME PERK: 25% skill, mod cast speed. Double press to override, cooldown 35s. FIRST SKILL: 2 charge max 4 minion. Damage scales: skill + explosive. OVERDRIVE: summon 2 minons per charge 50% minions moving speed. Press to detonate deal 2m AOE, give 40% charge back upon detonate. Charge time: 15s. SECOND SKILL: 2 charge max 2 minions. Hit scan laser shoot( projectile keep messing with engineer turret mode need to get ripped of it.) Damage scales: skill + mod. OVERDRIVE: constant beams do 25% increases Damage compared to normal mode( make the beams change to red color and look bigger for cool factor.) Press to detonate give you 10s of 5% vampire. Charge time: 20s. LAST SKILL: 1 charge 1max minions. Our big minion do the same as now but Damage type: skill + melee. OVERDRIVE: change to Jump slams attack deal melee Damage in 3m AOE, 50% moving speed ( change his running animation to fast shoulder run animation to clear indication of him in "babarian" mode. Press to detonate returns 50% charge( this way when he low on hp you can choose to get back half charge or risk losing him for full charge time). Charge time: 35s. This way player can choose to play explosive style with first skill. Skill+ mod style with second skill. Or run in with melee build like a madness dual fighter with last skill.

I'm generally happy for nerfs but really hard to say that these changes are gonna open up more build possibilities than they kneecap. Seems like instead of having different possible variants on eg dot builds (melee dot focused, gun dot focused, ability dot focused etc) we'll be lucky if there's precisely one setup that is actually good. Still almost nothing to make skill focused builds have respectable DPS, and somehow still no ability to sort gear, seriously navigating the ring menu to try to find something that could be good for your build is just horrible.

Opportunist isn't going to be as OP as you think We're still going to need to perfect dodge to begin the chain, and the chain can easily be interrupted by enemies hitting you Fun when managed to pull off, but it's not going to be OP

I think they went a little overboard on nerfing crit builds. But then again, new dlc means new meta. So I’m excited to see what comes out of it.

lol. every single build i use got nerfed hard. except skill havoc build. maybe the loss off cudgel 5% crit chance will equalize with havoc speed.

So instead of buffing the underpowered/underutilized items and skills, they decide to nerf the hell out of the popular/strong ones instead. Perfect... I'm already not playing much but this kills my interest even more. God forbid we enjoy being strong and OP.

Legit annoying why a lot of devs do these. Instead of buffing the underperforming weapons/builds they nerf everything fun on the game. I'm looking at you Destiny 2, Helldivers 2 and Warframe.

Instead of buffing the unused stuff and making it viable they just gutted all the good stuff and went like here, there is 5 more clip size on this shitty pistole, have fun using it now. This "balance" shift is just bad. They just destroyed all the good and fun stuff and the buffs to the unused items are mostly so bad most ppl will still not use them. Why can't we have both, the good builds from pre dlc and good new builds which will come with the dlc? My hype for the dlc is basically gone.

There was nothing positive from this patch. It's like the devs wanted us to all come in and hate every build we put work in. I guess it means we absolutely need to buy the dlc for the next set of "broken" gear that won't be touched for a while to boost sales.

To be honest, this seems like a buff (relatively) to people who just equip whatever seems fun without trying to min-max. Having strategies and equipment that are too good not to use really took a lot of the fun out of experimentation. If their aim was to reduce the power gap between metagaming and goodstuff builds, I think it was mostly successful.

I mean its a pve game and they should have done the balancing before they released the game. I didnt pay to test balance for them. Im sick of constantly having to sift through changes all the time.

I think a powershift is good for the game, everyone uses the same builds, and now more people will Probably lean into skill focused builds with status and explosive damage focuses
