Unpaid internships are amazing for companies because they can exploit people into doing work for them for free. If I’m a business owner I’d want to gaslight people into believing that their time and work isn’t worth anything and that the real value is “experience” or empty promises of a better position in the future.
@Mjot101
@Mjot101 3 жыл бұрын
Yes and on top of that having unpaid internships means less paid positions since the work is being done for free, the only result being a higher percentage of profits for the company, it’s just straight up text book exploitation

@Nathan Sornsovan Or the people who already have the money to work without pay for years come out on top, the meritocracy is bullshit and if people like you actually cared about competition you would fight for equal opportunity. Statistics constantly show that you are overwhelming likely to end up in the same economic situation as your parents. Internships are literally a perfect example of how capitalism is intentionally designed to make the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I heard someone mention that gamers often believe in meritocracy because it does kind of applies to esports, since they are cheap to get into and a competitive sports/games player is actually evaluated on their talent, but literally no other industry works like that.

@@Mjot101 may I get an explanation/example of true capitalism ensuring the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? IMO true capitalism with a proper functioning government is the only way forward with true freedom for all
@Mjot101
@Mjot101 3 жыл бұрын
@@irapidzz8190 Well Imo there is a lot of stuff, but an example would be letting universities inflate their prices to the point where a lot of poor people don't have access to them (or have to take on a ton of debt) and then are less likely to get good jobs. Or like how in the US the tax rates on investments are way lower than on income do it's easier to make money if you already have it to invest

@@ItsHorizonz People have bills to pay and living expenses in general. If an intern works 20-40 hours a week, that is time they should be compensated for. Should they earn $40k-60k a year salaries? No, but grunt work that you do for these offices is at least worth a minimum hourly wage. If these interns aren’t doing that work, someone in the office has to do it, so it’s not like their work is worthless to the company. Trust me, there’s plenty of paid internships out there that make your intern pool significantly less skilled and valuable if you choose not to pay them.

Never worked a day in his life talking about "that's not how it works". Maniac cosigns it by saying "YOU HAVE TO EARN IT"..... maniac is on 3 optic videos a year and milked a 55K substitute player salary when he was on Florida lol. Hector paid for his 4 week rehab stint. Maniac hasn't earned anything that he's been given for the last 5 years.

Making Hutch sounds like an idiot while he isn’t there to defend himself seems skeptical. Something tells me Hecz lost an argument and changed Hutch’s words.
@moegerms
@moegerms 3 жыл бұрын
Hutch knows the value of labor. These kids haven't worked a day in their lives. Imagine openly saying you have BILLIONAIRE investors but being too cheap to pay an intern a living wage. Hitch is right. Anybody who disagrees is either underage or still living with their parents without having to worry about paying rent.

@@abdullateef187 the point is that probably wasn’t his opinion. Hutch puts arguments together well. Having someone who disagreed with someone tell you what occurred is highly inaccurate.
