I can only agree with that. It was a very good illustration of the gaps between the various levels of cricket. Ollie Sutton, I think, has played for Warwickshire 2s this season and didn't look concerned about anything that was bowled at him. I must admit there was nothing in his behaviour on the field that would suggest to me that the beamer was deliberate.

He has indeed, Keith, and unless I’m mistaken that was former Gloucestershire bat Ian Cockbain opening the batting as well. I’ve always felt that there are two ways you can approach playing against current or former professionals in club cricket who are obviously higher standard. You can either throw your toys out of the pram and get annoyed about it, or you can relish the chance to test yourself against top class opposition. Ultimately, there aren’t many better feelings as a (in my case former) weekends-only player than being successful against such players, be it a wicket, a catch or a good shot or two. Clitheroe acquitted themselves really well here, and can hopefully use this experience moving forward. PS. Excellent filming, as always.

No Clitheroe play in the top level of the Lancs cricket league whilst formby play top level of the Liverpool league. Both leagues are very strong which is the stronger is open to debate.

Who said there are no professionals ? Formby play in an ecb affiliated premier league as do clitheroe. The idea is no provide top level cricket to bridge the gap between county and club cricket. The standard is meant to be tough full of ex county pros and 2nd 11 county players.

Keith was told by someone from Formby that they didn’t have any professionals which clearly wasn’t the case. Not an issue in my eyes but surely said person should get their facts right. Formby look a good side & going by this performance, will go along way in the competition & rightly so.
