As someone who basically grew up without parents from 12 on - until then I had fairly normal, very happy life - I used to think I had everything figured out and I didn’t need adults because I thought I was an adult at 14. After making a job out of studying successful people throughout history and in my life, as well as analyzing my own life I can say with certainty that the biggest single predictor for success in life is a strong family and good parenting. I can also tell you having lived in many places abroad that the rat race and the mindset in the USA has successfully destroyed our families over the last 50 years. Both parents are forced to work, unless you’re wealthy enough to have one stay at home, meaning children are raised by the government in schools, which is why kids are turning out more and more confused as the generations go by. My generation was still relatively normal (early 80s kid), but each successive generation I have seen is more and more disconnected and confused. If we want a strong society we need strong families. You hit the nail on the head. God bless!

Yeah at the end of the interview, he says he's not too spiritual but he's going to pray, but he doesn't know who to pray to. He needs to call upon the Lord Jesus Christ. God will have mercy on him when he just believes on Jesus Christ for eternal life. John 6:47. John 11:25-26. 1 John 5:13. He doesn't need to change. All he needs to do is say yes to God by believing on the Son of God Jesus Christ.

Normally I would be scared of a dude like this because AB would slaughter my gay Jewish ass in a heartbeat, but I related to all of the emotions he described, and want him to get the help he so desperately deserves as a human with dreams. You’re not a piece of crap Jonathan!! You’re struggling with depression and PTSD. Sobriety is so difficult to navigate and achieve when there’s untreated mental health issues going on. I’m currently struggling with addiction, depression, and PTSD as well and it’s not your fault sir. It’s the perfect storm for disaster. Please keep trying!!!! @MR-backup I think grannys raising kids is a constant in the broken parts of every race. You see it in the trailer parks, the ghetto, and the Barrios. A little less in the Barrios because they are so insanely family oriented, but still common. I actually worry for the Black community for that reason... there's fewer and fewer grannys who are righteous, good women who don't engage in any toxic lifestyle. The gen-X grannys are NOT like the golden generation grannys and the millenial Grannys are gonna be even worse in the next 20 years. I don't know what will happen when the cornerstone of a lot of poor black communities, the Black grandmother, basically goes away.

Jonathan is dead wrong about one thing. He said that life isn’t hard. Live is VERY hard, and for most of us out here just trying to get by everyday we are just one misstep away from a complete downward spiral. Jonathan was on that spiral since day #1 because of circumstances that were not in his control. Someone needs to teach this man how to forgive himself for being human, and also what a big world full of opportunities and wonderful people there is outside of his bubble. There is plenty of opportunity for him to get his life straight, and the prison system as it exists currently is NOT the answer.
@thebob3712
@thebob3712 Жыл бұрын
Life is what you make it to be, if it is hard there is a reason for that, you. What spiral was he on from day 1? he was brought up by his grandparents and had a good childhood, only spiral was doing drugs at 16, that is a personal choice, he had the opportunity not to do it but chose to, what circumstances was he not in control of? self control would be my guess, it's easy to do drugs and its easy not to, your choice, choose your path wisely.

Thousand of dollars to get out. Thousands of dollars for lawyer. And now looking at 25 years for prison. While in jail they rented a U-Haul and took hundreds of thousands of dollars in tool and equipment in shop. Titles,deeds, and paper work to file power of atty to claim my life. Then loaded my fifth wheel to take it. But I bonded out before they left with it.lived in my house for a week before I got out. Sold my cloths and anything of value I had over 250,000 dollars lost. Jonathon, thank you for your interview. It takes a lot of strength to be honest about your life. Especially when you’re talking about your shortcomings. I believe you have some good qualities but you make bad choices. Your life is only going to change when you stop and think about what will happen when you make a choice. It takes a Lot of courage and commitment to change. It won’t be easy. At first, it will probably be one of the hardest things you’ve ever done. Every time you get knocked down, you have to choose to do the right thing. The world isn’t going to look better until you surround yourself with good people. If you go swimming in the sewer, what will the world look like? Not the same as swimming in a lake or pool. I’m saying a prayer for you and your loved ones. Jonathan. My suggestion: Get in a good recovery halfway house where you can live and go to meetings. Focus solely on your recovery, make the main thing the main thing. Get a sponsor. Follow simple suggestions at the meetings, they work. At the beginning of my recovery it was easy for me to worry about all of these things that I thought I needed to be doing but the truth was if I wasn’t alive it didn’t matter about those things because I wouldn’t be here anymore so I threw myself into recovery. I have about 7 1/2 years clean now and I couldn’t imagine my life any other way. You can do this, you can change your life, I promise you it’s 1,000,000% possible. I was always to lazy to get the sponsor. That might have been the key. I’m doing alright though

@@lucasvarela9632 I can’t speak for anyone but me, but having a sponsor is absolutely crucial to my recovery. One thing that has kept me clean is following simple suggestions in recovery whether I want to do them or not. It gets me out of myself and gives me an opportunity to grow.

This guy has the potential to change and he wants it so bad. God please protect this man and lead him back to his children, sober and with clarity and strength. Lead him to being the father and man he wants to be. Amen.

I can say that life is hard. Even for us who are maybe doing a bit better at it. It's an obstacle course and I think that it takes some decision-making skills to navigate it. And if you've had a rough start at life, and don't have anyone there to help you through it and guide you to gain these skills it makes it that much harder. I really hope things work out for him. I'm cheering him on!

To the guy in this video! Hold your head up high man! Your honesty, your struggle, your focus...it is all motivation to a lot of people who have watched this. You're the Tony Robbins or Prison Reform, struggles and all. That confidence lies within you, not the narcotic. Use it, and know that this interview has motivated, likely many, to make adjustments in their own lives. I appreciate you! A lot of us do!

This channel has made me love people more than I ever have in the past. All people should be treated with respect. We must start celebrating our ordinariness.

My childhood buddy just got out last week after 19 cals and he's going thru the same thing. Same situation. I'm praying he can stay clean bc the booze and drugs got him there. He's a good hard working dude and did alot in prison to get better. He covered too and checked in so they wouldn't put him a situation that would add to his time again bc he deserved to leave ....19yrs. He is ashamed of the tats he hasn't covered up yet. Sad
