Former Atheist Lawyer opens by sharing about his life before he became a Christian. He continues to share the ways in which his Christian challenged him over the course of their debates to further research science and theology. He goes on to reveal the evidence for God which ultimately led him to Christianity.
"The Beckoning: Examining the Truths that Transformed an Atheist Attorney into a Believer in God". Mike Minot’s story is different in that he was not down and out or brought to his knees due to harsh events in his life that drove him to faith in Jesus Christ. He was at the top of his game, living the “American Dream” with a great job, good health, plenty of money, and seemingly no problems when he was challenged by a friend to re-evaluate the meaning of his life and examine where he was headed. Even though his friend knew that Mike was an atheist, he suggested that Mike begin his search by reading the Bible.

I had a similar experience with one major exception, I was an alcoholic. At 34 I had already beco.e the director of a research firm, was an investment banker, been invited to the White House and my soul was dying. I was drinking myself to death. Alone, I began reading the gospels in search for truth. I cried out Many times Jesus save me. I don't deserve but I begged. I'm sober over 30 years and I constantly study nature, science and religion and am in awe of the magnificence of our Creator and Savior. I've written several novels and screenplays eluding to the issues which I've described. Make no mistake about it, we are saved to serve in some capacity. He honors those who honor Him.

As a scientist (biochemistry), and med student, the more I looked into science in general, whether it's physics, biochemistry, anatomy/physiology, etc., the more I've appreciated God's amazing genius handiwork! Other scientists who are amazing apologists= Hugh Ross, Stephen Meyer, James Tour, Michael Behe, John Lennox :)

I had gone about discovery in a similar way as he did. I was on the fence for about 40 years when I started reading and listening about fine tuning of the universe, life at the cellular level, and on and on. It just became overwhelming at how many "coincidences" it would have had to taken place for things to be as they are. Common sense told me that there had to have been a designed. for me, the study of science changed to "how did God do it?"

When my mentor told me something about God I had never heard, it converted me, and God finally made sense. He told me it was impossible for the ten commandments to be the law of Moses, then proved it with scripture. Most of Christianity just reads Mt. 4:4, then ignores the sublime importance.

@username-yn5yo I mean Mt. 4:4, is Jesus declaring the new covenant, the ten commandments. They are the law, he said not one jot or tittle can pass away, yet Sunday Christianity thinks they are done away, thinking they are the law given to Moses.

Romans 1:18-32 would disagree with you As would Psalm 19:1 and Ecclesiastes 3:11 Everybody is born with the intrinsic knowledge that we didn’t get here by accident even the headhunters in the Amazon. They might not know his name but they know they’re accountable. The conscience didn’t “evolve”….. It was placed there.

Just wonder: How much progress we could reach if Science stopped questioning if there's a God and started to find out which god is the True one? It's good to know how things were made but it doesn't exclude the need of a Creator.

I'm glad you're on track with the idea for sure there is a God but could you look further into the idea that God who is magnificent on the cells and and all these other things he's done that he could also preserve his word and he's not the author of confusion over 200 English translations and you are to pick up which one you like that's ridiculous look into the fact that the King James Bible is the preserved words of God and there's a lot of critics who are going to throw up these objections to it but there's answers to every single one of them most of the objections are absolutely ridiculous when they see the answer so look up Dr Sam gipp look up Peter S Ruckman Dr Peter S Ruckman that'll give you a head start on the on the Bible issue
